michael
Laptop / PC > Start > Programs > DOS Prompt > type ipconfig Chances are it'll be this on a D-Link: Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 I can't do "etc etc" though so if you need more specifics you'll have to ask. 1 hour of support on Christmas day, I'll invoice you. JustGav
Shouldn't it be using DHCP? IE the xbox should get the settings on its own.

I don't know anything about the XBox but you'd expect it to, makes more sense. Maybe DNS isn't enabled on the D-Link so it's dropping back for a manual setup? However I don't use wireless on my 360 and prefer a cat5 option, so I'm assuming there must be some sort of cd/driver/setting for the wireless adapter on eggbox. JustGav
Jurgen, If your laptop is connecting fine, unless you have forced it to use a static setting then your system will have a DHCP server on the Dlink (DHCP hands out IP addresses on your network). If you have got other devices working it would seem to indicate that the issue would be with the xbox. Forcing an IP address onto the unit might not make any difference if the underneath wireless isn't establishing a connection properly. Jurgen-Jm-Imports
What was the problem? (For future reference ) my xbox was initially set on manual settings when it was nto wireless, so i changed it to automatic once i got the codes from you it worked.. so i entered the correct Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 and Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 then set it it auto and it sort it self out.. cheers
