Well, being surprised to find a 2JZ in a MkIV Supra doesn't show a great deal of knowledge about them, does it.

It's not the fact that it contains a 2JZ, it's the stink that was kicked up at the time, mocking the film & the film makers about their lacking knowledge of the cars that they were dealing with. Yes we all know the a MKIV will contain soe sort of 2JZ, what I remember most is the comments along the lines of 'haaaaaa did they not know that's a NA engine not a turbo engine, the ****king muppets'

Yeah, and the next time you see it it's magically turned into a TT engine, and Vin Diesel is fitting an intercooler upside down...

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't recall any kicking of stinks but then I've never actually seen the film and didn't own a Supra at the time the movie came out.

This is exectly the thing I'm on about, you're taking the micky out the film, yet what if they did remove the NA engine & replace it with a TT lump, you seem to infer the film makers are idiots, yet we all know there are various people who have taken an NA car and replaced the engine with a TT engine.

If in fitting an NA-TT conversion the only mistake they made was fitting a FMIC upsidedown, then they'll do a lot better than some of the ex-traders on here :D

It was more the driving related stuff, racing on part throttle, floors falling out, danger to the manifold and the 19843 gear changes - the cars were acceptable :)

You've not got a "Danger to Manifold" gauge, bloody hell, that's got to be the most important gauge after boost, afr, egt, oil temp, water temp, fuel press, low fuel, Top Gear start time, etc etc
