Martin
Merry Christmas all Had a quote for respaying all my car. The car is silver for a start and had bit of painting done in the past (not by me I might add) which is not up to standard in my eye's. The guy was going to take front and rear bumpers off, spoiler and rear window coming off to, side skirts, spats and light's all off too. Total respay in stock silver. Total price of £3000 Thats what I thought but he does a great job. He does all of his work for Merc and BMW and he's giving me a fare bit of the price. Not sure I can aford this but the car needs painting badly. What do you reckon? It's not worth it I know but the car's for keeps and I will prop put a stock tt engine in the end. Will be a cracking car in the end. PS. Can you still get the rear rubber window seal and the small side window seals? Cheers everyone, have a good one. Nic
PS. Can you still get the rear rubber window seal and the small side window seals? Yes window seals available to buy new. The rear quarter window seals are not sold separately, they come bonded to the glass so you'd need to buy the complete window. I can supply all parts new at good saving over UK dealer prices, if you would like details just let me know.
michael
What's wrong with the current paint, can it be saved with a decent paint rectification?
absz
its a fair quote for the work involved. i had mine resprayed 2 weeks ago. but i done all my prepwork, thats removing quarter glass/removing tailgate all lights handles etc etc. and sanding the whole car with p180 abrasive. then fitting all parts back on once sprayed. also done my own mopping+polishing and paid £1000 for the spray job

miko_supra
sounds about right. as said, see if you can get a bit knocked off for doing some work yourself, maybe not sanding, but taking off body parts. could save your self a few hundred
JohnnyW
My car was accident damaged when I bought it and in red/pink. I got all the front panels realigned, oem skirts added, wheel arches rolled and full respray in black for £1700 they did a fantastic job. Here's the results: http://www.jwwebdev.co.uk/Supra/Respray/1.jpg http://www.jwwebdev.co.uk/Supra/Respray/10.jpg http://www.jwwebdev.co.uk/Supra/Respray/11.jpg http://www.jwwebdev.co.uk/Supra/Respray/13.jpg

JohnnyW
Dare Hiro's, they're 19's they used to be called Axis Hiro's but (i think) Axis went bust and Dare bought the moulds. The only diffierence is that the Axis ones has "Axis" stamped into one of the 5 spokes on each wheel.

AndyT
Prices went up when the pro's had to swap to eco friendly paints. £2k became £3k virtually overnight. So it sounds fair for the work provided it's fully mopped etc.
DrivingTheDream
I was passing the bodyshop that does Envy's work and asked for a quote they came back with 3k same colour quote "As there's alot of stripping involved". However, I'm sure I've seen Gaz give a much less guesstimate to a member on the forum.... So its not going there in Jan.
JohnnyW
"Prices went up when the pro's had to swap to eco friendly paints" WHAT??!!!? It became illegal to use the non friendly stuff. Hi tech coatings cost more to start with but will last an awful lot longer.
