Ok, so we went out this morning and on the way home the Hubby floored the car a little. As it should the traction control kicked in when the ass end tried to fall out and it cut the power but.............

The traction control light (green) appears on the dash but then it stays on and the car drives like MRS.Daisy from then on until you literally stop turn off the engine and restart it, then the light goes and the car drives normal again.

Is there something wrong with our car or is there a trick or button to press to snap it out of that again???

What you describe is perfectly normal. If the traction control has to cut a lot of power to regain control then it will stay in granny mode. Granny mode can be removed by either turning traction control off and on again or by flooring it. If you floor it and traction is maintained then the granny mode will turn itself off again.
