Supragal
I always thought that your tonsils were glands.... anyone know? There must be docotors/scientists etc on here?
Ark
The tonsils are lymph nodes, or oval-shaped masses of lymph gland tissue, located on both sides of the throat that are part of the body immune system. http://www.faqs.org/health/Sick-V4/Tonsillitis.html

Ady
Just a tad! The ear ache was the worst bit tho... The silly people in the hospital give me a fresh orange about 1 hour after waking up - me, still being in a dase from the op, drank it! I nearly threw my self out of the window i was in so much pain. It was the most anoying pain ive ever suffered. The naggin and dreading everytime you swallow was awfull. Mine lasted for a good 2 weeks n all. I used to snore realy bad, now i dont make a sound and love waking up with no sire throat. I dont miss the infected toncils one bit!!!
Godmutha
I had mine out when I was little.... probably about 7 or 8. I used to get tonsilitus as a child about 6 or 7 times a year.... not nice. You're quite lucky if you can get it done now... apparently docs don't like doin Tonsilectamies anymore. Not sure why, but I know my cousin had to fight tooth n nail to get hers done, and then they went and buggered up the operation.
