Anyone on here sell laptops for a good price?

A very good friend of mine is looking to buy a laptop for his daughter for Christmas.

Is there anyone on here that may be able to offer a better deal than he could get elsewhere, and collected / delivered before Christmas?

Price wise you're as well off looking at PCWorld / Tesco as they have some very good deals.

 

Best priced we have at the moment is this one http://www.midlandcomputers.com/default.asp?area=prodview&prodid=8059, there really is no margin at all for me to discount as we're using it to get people into the showroom and try to make a little extra on the up sells.

It could do with an extra 512Mb really though for Vista which is another £25. Next day carrier is a tenner + vat.

Price not being everything, would I be right to assume that a similarly priced one from PC World/Tesco would be of lesser quality?

Well, we use HP brand as we don't tend to see them come back. Generally very reliable.

Acer had a tough patch with warranties a while back, but they're selling in their droves at good prices. My local Tesco were out of stock of their best deals, PC World seemed to have lots of choice, but a few quid more for similar spec.

 

You could buy online at one of those places the guys on here recommend - they usually look excellent VFM, as they buy literally hundreds and hundreds. I can't compete with that as we're not box shifters. There's easier ways to make a living.
