Stevo Posted December 18, 2007 Share Posted December 18, 2007 It's always distressing to hear of such tragedy, but this being local seems to have impacted harder than usual and I didn't even know him! It seems that Darren and his family are just along the road from me (I live in Swalwell). At the minute I feel as if I've been cheated of the opportunity to get to know a fellow enthusiast that seemed like a really canny lad.....God only knows how his family and friends must feel. This sort of tragic accident should never happen to anyone in their lifetime, but especially not at this time of year...my deepest condolences go out to all that knew Darren and I can only hope that this loss of a young, enthusiastic owner can help serve as a timely reminder to the rest of us. I for one, am constantly reminded of the dangers of the roads/weather everytime I pass through the Team Valley and see the ever present floral tributes to Karl, who also left us so prematurely.
