DannoSupra
I got a question for the techies! My mates' got an R33 GTR (1995) coverd 27k (import) The previous owner claims its got 330-350hp. All its got is aftermarket Air Filters and a Cat Back Exhaust Now, the problem: It’ll drive ok under load, as normal. But on cruise speed, really light throttle, it hesites/misfires/splutters, and sometimes turbo lag. But as soon as you give it throttle, it’ll start to spool up and she’s going fine again! It's had the plugs, oil+filter and 3 aux belts changes. We also found a bust spring in one of the coil packs, so replaced that. Is it possible that the sumptoms are leading towards a Inlet Manifold Gasket Failure?! Cheers
Paul Whiffin
Possibly inlet manifold gasket, spray around the inlet manifold area when its running and see if the engine revs change at all. Could also be an O2 sensor, air leak somewhere causing the air flow meters to get a bit confused, air flow meter, TPS out of adjustment/buggered, etc. etc.

Guest civicsam
hey danno, older skylines suffer pretty badly from coil faliures, ive replaced 2 sets, on 2 skylines we've imported this year. so possibly could be that.
jamesmark
Chris Wilson I believe knows quite a fair bit about Skylines.
Sean1933
If its running bad only when in closed loop then i am thinking o2 sensor, that would be my first point to check.
Tricky-Ricky
I would say that the individual throttle plates are out of sinc and probably the throttle pot to.
SmigzyTT
I'd say afm's
Thorin
Possibly O2 sensor, but I'd check coil packs again and possibly pull and recheck plugs again.
GTR RGT
Swop the AFM's with another pair and see if it still does it. If not then replace the coilpacks with splitfires
Chris Wilson
It runs a 2 three cylinder engines, each 3 cylinders under closed loop from their own oxygen sensor, and air flow meter. The 3 most likely problems are air flow meter dad or dying, an O2 sensor dead, or a turbo on its way out. get it on a Nissan Consult diagnostic reader, or measure the voltage at the ecu from each of the AFM's and scope the O2 sensor outputs. If both check out ok do a vac check, and get the compressions and leakdowns checked, then suspect a turbo. AFM or O2 sensor are the most likely culprits, I'd say O2 sensor as a guess.
