hi again mate i dont know either i tell you what i will tell you how to fix the 3 red light error i know you might think im a dick by saying this but believe me ive done this to 2 xboxes and its worked this is what i was told to do from a guy who works for xbox get your console all connected to tv dont turn it on yet wrap the console fully in a towel so its completely covered it has to be a thick towel or wrap it in a few thin ones if you aint got the thick towels then turn your console on and leave it until it turns itself off leave it for around 30 mins to cool down as it will be a bit hot then turn it on and i guarantee it will work you got nothing to lose from doing this as it is already 3 red lights and its just sat there its worked for me i had to do this a few times as the 3 red lights come back with my 1st console i had to keep doing this but the second console i got as worked fine ever since believe me when i say im not messing about i know it sounds stupid but give it a go

Sounds like a good way to burn the house down

this is common knowledge on the 360 forums...basically the 3 rings happens because heat makes the PCB flex and breaks tracks and overheats the chip.

All you're doing is heating the PCB as hot as possible and cooling slowly so hopefully bends back in to place.

It works but how come your not sending it back to microsoft which is what i would do?

Microsoft have extended the warranty, so you have a three year warranty now.

Don't mess around with it just give them a ring and they will email a label with a barcode so UPS can collect it from you, then they will send you a re-conditioned unit back ( they are putting metal brackets over the chipsets now to reduce the risk of it flexing apparently:Pling: ).

I've had 5 (YES FIVE) Xbox 360's now and they have never quibaled once, the product might be iffy, but the customer service has been spot on in my experience anyway.
