marbleapple
It's worth bobbing down when you can to see the totallity of the damage now the front bits are taken away. I'm sure he will look forward to doing that! Sorry to hear that your problems are continuing Matt.

Matt H
There is very little left of the exterior that can be re-used, including skirts, rear wing and all the overfenders TBH. We have already have had to cut the wings off and the front cross members just to manoeveure the car about. Unless the recovery chap has totally waster the rear then the skirts and overfenders on the rear were perfectly re-usable.. i hit the car head on, Didnt touch the rear. Altough i have noticed there is a crack in the rear spoiler its repairable Here some photos of what it looked like on my drive: I have more if you want to see, but as you can tell from those pictures, the rear, aside from the crack i put in my trial rear (my fault in a car park ) the rest is in perfect nick to be re-used
Scooter
how would the blended in fenders be removed? and how much would this removal plus the repair of the scuffed bits compare to new ones?
Matt H
how would the blended in fenders be removed? and how much would this removal plus the repair of the scuffed bits compare to new ones? Angle grinder was the solution, there needs to be fibreglassing / blending done again anyway if new ones were bought so swings and roundabouts
RobSheffield
It would be a LOT more cost effective to just like, buy new ones
rob wild
Flipping Heck! your just having no luck at the moment! Wasn't the car trailered down to Knight Racer and back in that condition?

RobSheffield
care to enlighten me? Id simply love to. You want to reclaim fitted AND blended skirts from the orange car, i have only skim read the thread so im not sure if any are damaged or not but the cost for the bodyshop to remove them and remove all the attached bits/filler and prep them for spraying again will equate to more than the cost of actually buying new ones and having them fitted and blended to the new shell. Its not simply a case of removing them and putting them on the new shell, its that they have to be cleaned up and filled back to remove the imperfections that will be left when the previous amount of filler is removed - any damage to the gelcoat (and there will be a fair amount) will need to be repaired and made good. If one is damaged (and i cant be arsed to check the other thread for pics of the offside front) then you will need to repair/replace that one anyway. Thats only a basic explanation since im waiting for pizza to cook, if you need more info let me know
