manu button

Found this on this very website, is this not what you need?

What does the MANU button near the gear lever do

MANU = Manual shift mode. When you are in manual mode, and you put the shifter in L, the tranny will stay in 1st gear, when you put the shifter in 2nd, the tranny will shift to 2nd gear (where when you are not in Manual mode, the car will still start from 1st... or remain in 1st depending on your speed), and when you put the shifter in D, the tranny will shift to 3rd. (but note that when the car is at complete stop, and the shifter is in D, and in manual mode, the car will still start from 2nd gear). Basically, if you use the manual mode, and shift manually, the car will shift a lot faster.... and thus the car will go a lot faster.

eeeeerrr hang on a second,

I do not need to push manu in order to put mine into

L and 2, i just simply move them from L to 2 to D,

If i dont move them, it will just go right up to the limiter wont it

when in 1 and 2. D obviously would change to 3/4th gear.

the only think i need to do to get into L is to push in the BIG

SAFETY BUTTON on the lever !

i cant see a purpose for MANU then....

well , it engine breaks 4 me just in 1 and 2 without MANU but

with O/D OFF - does MANU just do it a bit more harsher????

i'll have to give this agao this weekend !!!

and D wont go into 4th...why would we want it to NOT go into

fourth - surley if your powering away and you reach 3rd rev.limiter

you want to get into 4th ?

this one might be a bit more tricky to test at the weekend.....

wheres that clear/no copper / no gatso motorway .....?

The MAN button raises the line pressure of the gearbox and allows faster/quicker gear shifts. These are more jerky but quicker.

It will only change up in gear as a last resort at the red line whereas in normal mode it changes up slightly earlier. Little in it in reality as far as I can tell.

I thought I'd already said all this before in earlier posts.

I don't find much difference in MANual mode. It does change quicker but I find for most of my driving leaving it in normal mode at least allows me to knock in the overdrive when I've shot past the traffic.
