Would someone mind pm'ing me a vin from a UK car? I want to check the data that I've managed to get hold of...

With BPU and a FMIC my '96 TT6 made 420 at 1.2 bar on the rolling road at a TVR vs Supra shootout at the place near Gatwick (the name escapes me). I reckon with a decent SMIC, like a CW one, it would make about the same. It was an absolute animal (not as much as the big singles but a handful none the less) and it really would play with the big boys and would quite happily spin the rear wheels in 4th it you gave it a boot-ful. I had it like that for about 7 years until my wife stacked it. But nothing really went wrong with it as I stayed on top of the services and replaced things like the coil pack connectors. It's a totally different car once BPU. But as others have said, if you're not prepared to deal with stress causing issues then don't push it too much. Has it done a load of miles?

Interesting... Well I'm all about automation so point me in the right direction and I'll see what I can do.

Also, I'm not really interested in earlier models (pre 99 or USA figures) but if someone can point me in the direction of the raw data then I'm up for working it out for as many years as there's data.

So I'll start with what I do know... This site explains the Japanese version production figures broken down by month and year: http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/specs.htm However, I've been searching for a few days now and I can't find these same figures broken down by any other factors. I'm sure I read somewhere that there were only 68 manual tt Supras made in 2002 but I can't find any documentation to back that up. Any ideas? I don't mind working it out if there were raw data to work it out from but I can't find didly squat. Any ideas?

I had the j-spec brakes on my old Supra and they were really good except for after a few high speed decelerations and then they would fade like a Mo fo. I went for uk-spec brakes with DBA discs and ebc yellow stuff pads. The difference was massive in that I never experienced fade again no matter how much I tried It also didn't seem to lock up as readily, less snatchy if you will. I just felt more confident that they'd work as I wanted them to when I wanted them to. All that said, as everyone else has suggested, unless you drive like a hooligan everywhere then I'd suggest there's something wrong with yours.

What would happen if you de-limited but left as kph and then went over 200kph so that the needle hit the distance reset button? As the speedo is electronic, would it actually cause a problem? Or would it just be wedged against the reset button until you dropped back below that speed?
