  1. Didn't mythbusters try this and the result was you couldn't, even being towed at 50 mph didn't work.
  2. Run the engine and select all the gears then pop into N and check the level, also have a look and see what colour the ATF is, it should be a nice cherry red colour. If you want to replace the fluid totally then i think its a box out job
  3. Doesn't mean their the best, just in your case their crazy cheap £840 for a 21 year old with only 2 .5 years driving experience and zero NCB is never right, is that fully comp though for either the NA or UK spec ?
  4. I think your off your head regarding the oil pump and shells, mines on 136000 miles and is fine. Just get it checked pressure wise Changing the crank pulley is a wise move though
  5. Its more than likely to be a mk3 but you could have a G reg plate on a mkiv
  6. I'd go one further and do a brake fluid change unless you know its been done in the last couple of years. Transforms your brakes if you have old stuff in there that's full of moisture

  9. You should use the tyre calculator to get the correct profile to keep the rolling radius close to o/e http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator.htm

    Need alloy choices

When you say corroded i guess your on about the chrome on them is flaking off in places ?
  14. If its overheated then the head could be scrap if its warped so changing the gasket could well be a waste of time
  15. Just get a sheet of quality plywood and a jigsaw I think you'd need to make sure the splitter isn't sitting at an angle or you could cause some issues with front end grip

    Fitted new bonnet

Thanks Andrew I prefer to keep the aluminium bonnet be it j spec or uk spec, the fit is perfect and no need for aero catches which i'm really not keen on. TRD vents would be my only mod and maybe i might do this to the j spec bonnet once my uk bonnet is fixed
