  1. I changed the head on my single turbo'd Supra the other week, easy job if you ask me, might be a little trickier with the std turbos in place though but then you should be able to lift the head off with the turbo's/manifold still in place. Mine took around 5 hours total time to do approx. I'd personally fit a std head gasket on, thats what I use, I'm running 1.9 bar on very odd occasion, 1.5 most of the time and no problems at all with it. Cheers Paul
  2. I tried turning LS10 off as well and it did nothing. Does switching coil 4(fuel pump) off mess anything up? If not then may as well leave it off?
  3. I was thinking it must be a difference between US and Jap spec, may be the wiring to the ECU is slightly different, see what you can find out, I got fed up with asking in the end!
  4. AEM or Gems didn't know whats causing it, is your cat sensor warning light on as well?
  5. I wish I did, mine has been on ever since fitting the ECU along with the cat heat sensor warning light
  6. Well mine was picking up noise above 4000rpm which wasn't knock, apparently the std knock sensors pick up transmission noises higher up the rev range, you can tune the knock sensors to be less sensitive which can help a bit. Best way is to get yourself a proper knock monitoring device though.
  7. I knew that! Be careful using the std knock sensors though Wez, they dont mean much and you cant set it up using them, on my car they were picking up knock that wasn't there thus retarding ignition/adding fuel which wasn't needed.
  8. Ok just checked the price, its £40 + delivery and VAT. It'll take around 3 weeks to get here as I've just had my latest shipment come in. If you need one give us a shout. Cheers Paul
  9. I can get a boss from Japan if needed for Momo wheel to Supra fitment, airbag or non-airbag, got one on mine, about £40 + VAT approx. Paul
  10. Nice one Wez, glad you had the balls to go ahead and fit one to a standardish auto Supra. May be some others will follow in your footsteps now....
  11. Think you'll find that on the plenum Wes.
  12. What sort of power are you running? My Max series RPS using a bog standard Toyota centre plate was fine up to around 550bhp, drove like a std clutch apart from a slightly heavier pedal, if I were you I'd go for that set up. I've recently changed to a 6 puck sprung plate which was a nightmare to start with, much better now its bedded in a bit though.
  13. I've got the late style indicators in stock here if anyone needs them, they fit all years of course..
  14. I fitted one to my car which I believe to be the only one in the UK, can't believe other people haven't fitted one yet... You can use the AEM to control boost if needed, only trouble is you wont be able to choose from different boost levels like this...so you'd still need to use a boost controller really. Paul
  15. Yep I was talking about 1.5 bar on my set up, you can run something like 1.2/3 bar on std ECU though if the fuellings up to it. No missfire, running that sort of boost means you can't run very aggresive ignition advance so the gains aren't very big, thats what I found anyway. Could also be caused by restrictions in the std head, inlet, etc.
  16. Well I got 550bhp on 1.5 bar which is reliable enough for day to day use. Going up to 2 bar really isn't worth it, you just can't run the right amount of ignition to get the big power out of it, running race fuel would cure that problem though of course but I dont just go for big power figures. Only running 256/264 cams, nothing to drastic... Hybrids are cheaper yep I agree with that, it all depends on what you want from the car, if you want to be limited then go for hybrids, if you want to have lots of options and can spend the money go for a single, which single you go for also determines what you do with fuelling. Remember you can run what I have on std 550cc injectors if you keep the boost down, that keeps the cost down a bit and you can run it with std ecu and some kind of fuel adjuster if your on a budget, then upgrade to fuel system/ECU at a later point.
  17. Expensive yes but it can work out cheaper in the long run, depends on what sort of person you are, if your like me I get bored very easily so have to fiddle thats why i went straight from std turbos to a single, I knew hybrids wouldn't be enough. And if you do get bored with a small single you can just wack a bigger one on!
  18. Powerhouse Racing stage 1 turbo kit, you'll need fuel system, ECU, etc to make it work proper of course....last time on rollers 587 at flywheel on pump fuel, no additives.
  19. I'd say so but then I've never driven an auto with a single before, doesn't seem to stop our American friends from bolting T88's on! Something like what I have at the moment is VERY driveable still so would be no problem with an auto.
  20. Just to clarify Alex, I was only running 17psi of boost, std ECU,etc. back then, no hybrids will live with a properly setup single.
  21. Yep, front should be 9x18 +41 and rear 10x18 +45, no problem with supplying them either at a nice saving over UK retail price..e-mail me if you need prices..
  22. Hi chaps, Does anyone know what the weight distribution front and rear is on a MK4 TT? Also does anyone know the height of the centre of gravity is as well?
  23. Recently I've just been using whatever I've got kicking around, RX7, Supra's, Pulsars, WRX's, etc. I've got an R32 GTR coming in next week which I'm intending on keeping awhile for my daily driver, see if I like it or not me thinks. Supra is still perfectly driveable, just can't be arsed to get it out of the garage all the time..
