thanks guys, spoke to the family today, no money troubles, plenty of work, no personal problems (that his wife and kids are aware of anyway) really really strange

Very sad, he was at work yesterday morning said to the guy on site he had to go out for a couple of hours ............ then put a hose pipe on the exhaust and that was it Really nice guy I have known for over 12 years, never knew he had any problems. Only spoke to him few days ago seemed his usual self. Leaves a wife and 2 grown up children. RIP Jon.
