ta, i think i'll send this one back and get a different one!! [GRIN][/GRIN] i do like the veilside kit so will go for that, as i've already got the skirts and rear spats and want the front to match!
-
yeah i thought i did a bit, but the geezer gave the usual crap answer of "we've sold hundreds of these and never had a problem"! so just thought i'd ask, i did replace a bumper on my escort a few years back, but it was a standard one which was a decent snug fit, but needed the holes drilling, but it did fit like it was supposed to, and came with fittings! so should quality aftermarket ones come pre drilled then, and be a direct bolt on with fittings?

i have just bought a replica veilside front bumper from japan, and when i came to measure it against the car it jus seems a bit big! Now i've never attepted fitting an aftermarket bumper on a car before so was wondering what the deal is. when i hold it in place it sticks out roughly 2-3" either side, and has no mounting holes, now the supplier says that the bumper will require modification but is 5-6" total a bit extreme? i thought it should be a tight fit, any help appreciated. the supplier said i can send it back and he will refund me but i just wanted to make sure i'm nnot being a plum before i do, and have the same prob with the next bumper i buy!

i've jus got some iridium spark plugs to put in but am not sure what the gap on the plug should be. i have a jspec tt6 bpu. any ideas? thanx.
-
yes mate that was me!!! my main water pipe from the top of the radiator was rubbing on the belt and the belt cut through it, thus loosing my water and making a lot of steam and a hot engine!!! :thumbdown luckily a bloke i work with drove past shortly after an gave me a lift to halfords for a new one!
-
there is one on mine in the drivers foot well on the accelerator side tucked jus out of easy reach!

i'm running stock boost, and only engine mods at the moment are HKS induction, and HSK front mount intercooler, the problem ony started yesterday but the plugs have been in a month. and jus to throw summit else in, it only happens when you have your foot down from the first turbo. if i bring the revs up slowly to 3.5k rpm then boot it, the problem doesn't happen. it's only when the first turbo is running under full boost then when it switches to the second one. i don't know what the plugs where i cant remember now!
-
i have a Jspec TT6, and when the second turbo jus starts to come in at about 4k rpm, it feels like it misfires, the boost gauge shows the pressure flicking between 0.6 and 0.8 bar and you can feel it to, but when i get to 5k rpm it stops and runs perfectly. i've only jus serviced it with new plugs, and haven't got any ideas short of getting a diagnostic done on it, any other ideas any one?

i saw a red uk supra jus off the M1 on thurs eve about 4PM, numberplate ends in SUP, he drove past me with my bonnet up with steam pouring out, but never even stopped!! :thumbdown the cheek!!!! lol !!
-
it's madness!! funny tho!
-
ta, i'll be taking it off now then!!!

i've jus bought a blitz dump valve for my j-spec TT6 and it's working well, but my problem is that once i shut the bonet the sound proofing under there is making it really quiet so it's hardly noticeable. my alarm is under there aswell and because of this it too sounds quiet when it goes off. Is it advisable to remove the sound proofing or has anyone else done it and found the engine noises then become too much without it? and is it a pain to refit if it does work or i change my mind? any help would be appreciated!!!!!!

wed 15th march 2056, but it only gives me another day if i was to quit the smokes, so i wont bother now!
-
thanx, i want to fit it myself anyhow, i want to find somewhere localish that will supply it for me, on my last car had problems with the whole mail order thing!!
-
i'm lookin to buy a new exhaust for my j-spec TT, want atleast a cat back system, but would like to de-cat. any one know a company in the northants area to try, and is it a complicated task removin the standard cat cuz i've been told about various sensors in there that could give me fueling problems!
-
yeah got all of that sorted now thanx. i disconnected the batt for a min, then managed to find a loose connection in the plug!!! bit of a 'mare but all done now thanx.
-
jus checked all of the plugs an i now have power steering!!! cheers for that. as for the rest i will keep lookin in daylight tomoz!
-
as far as i know i did plug it all back in but i will double check it. the only thing that is dissconnected at the mo is my stereo. yeah the other coax was disconnected when i got to it origionally.
-
yeah all of the fuses seem fine, there is 12V coming out of the fuses. i wasn't sure if i had knackered a relay. but i don't know how to check them
-
whilst trying to fix my stereo in, when i went to connect up the arial i grabbed the first plug that looked rite and put it in, as soon as i did i realised that it didn't fit but along with this as soon as it went in to the back of the stero the speakers crackled loudly and i pulled it straight out. the plug is smaller than the arial plug. but now everything is playing up. the power steering has gone really heavy. the slip cont. light keeps flashing at me, the ABS light is on and my stereo isn't working! i've checked the voltage on the ignition cables and they are showing about 7V rather than 12V. any help i'm completely thrown on this one!!!
