  1. Aha I see what you mean. I guess it's the tidiest way of doing things, if you are certain you will never change ECU? When I binned the AEM ECU that was in my car previously, some people thought I was mental - now Syvecs is THE unit to have. What it'll be in 5~!0 years time, who knows. I like this thread BTW, I only spotted it recently and am SLOWLY making my way from page 1 to this point, reading all the stuff you've done. I'm considering pulling my Supra apart and rebuilding it piece by pice. It doesn't need it, not by a long shot, but I want it to be better than it was out of the factory.
  2. My Supra was the first VVTi to have the Syvecs ECU fitted (known as Solaris back then!). Ryan did it and his OCD - which, for the record I share - kicked in and he made the unit fit in a plug & play style - read here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?170707-Going-Solaris-(ECU)

Garage it if the money's short for a year - don't ever break it, what else could you ever buy that you'd enjoy like the Supe??
  5. Just checked - both have 4 pins - photo of the one with a flange.
  6. O2 sensors from my Lexus - sorry for the delay.

I'm not sure if I can make the 9th Sep or not, but I'd like to go to one of these in future. Just to give people an expectation of timescales, if this goes ahead as a group trip then we'd be booking accommodation (deposit required) & ferry crossings (full payment required) at the end of this year/very early in next year, then everything else (balance of the accommodation costs, petrol, lap tickets, food...) you'd pay for during the trip.

I'd prefer to do a dedicated track day, if it were just me going, but I'm taking the family and we're of sight-seeing either side of taking in a few laps of the Ring. I appreciate what you're saying but tourist days are fine for my purpose next year.

Hey Jon, long time no see
  13. Are the O2 sensors the same as the ones from my UK GS300 (NA)? If so, I have them ready to go. I can take photos if required.

I'm not organising a group trip to a Ring track day, sorry fella. Have you been before? More insurance companies will cover you than you think, and if you avoid busy periods and don't drive like a kn0b, you'll be fine. Do as I do, get up early, have the track almost to yourself for 1~2 hours, get a late breakfast, spectate through the busy periods (or go sightseeing somewhere), then get on track again at the end of the day. Simples. Honestly, you have very little to worry about if you aren't pushing yourself beyond your limits and you avoid those that are. (They're easy to spot!) I wouldn't take my kids for a [steady] lap if I didn't believe this, and I intend to. It's just a road.

I made a cost calculator thing in the sticky in this sub-forum. The amounts will be out of date, but you can probably tweak it to update and give you a general idea.

It'll be in the 6 weeks school holiday, probably end of July /early August but depending on the dates it's open to tourists. I always try to do a 4~5 day trip that is in time with the track being open to the public the most.
  17. After a few years away, it looks like I will be going to the 'Ring again next year; any interest in me organising it as a group trip?
  18. Isn't 3.5k~4k where the 2nd turbo is due to come in.... could that be a clue... calling all experts on here!
  19. Check out M5W TT's thread - he's selling a Bullseye turbo & supporting bits: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?275844-Another-parts-breaking-list-Updated-26-08-12
  20. Steeve H, can you keep this thread posted on how many entries remain each week or so (or PM me and I'll post it up - it appears you're nearing your free post limit of 40). I don't want t o miss out but I also con't be 100% sure for a couple of weeks at least that my MR2 will be ready.
  21. Noise restrictions have always been there. If you drive you car on a public road with all its imperfections and loose stones and the like waiting to damage your paintwork, why not track it where conditions are usually a hell of a lot better? I'm planning on a full respray for mine, I'll still track it. It's a BIG part of the enjoyment of having this sort of car, for me. No point having all that power and speed if you can't ever really use it.
