  1. last night of the illuminations, good excuse for a North West meet? (and ofcourse anyone who would travel from any further) i've heard about a North West meet of the MG Rover club & the local CruiseBlackpool club who are also trying to arrange a meet for that night could be some nippy little tomcats & turbo'd bubbles about for the journeys there and back there's plenty of car parks, pubs, McDonalds drive thru's etc nearby where we could meet, eat & drink etc couple of maps below to show where we are & where we could meet: Map1 shows how to get to Blackpool for those who don't know (aim for the red X) Map2 shows how to get to the meet location from the end of the M55 (follow the green line until you get to the little Supra logo which is a retail park where there is a massive Morrisons car park right next door to McDonalds) the illuminations entrance is just a bit further down the road (shown on the map as colourful lights near the sea ) currently aiming for a 7pm meet, unless anyone objects?
  2. i've got one of these (not from this seller though) and think for the money it's a great little gadget it seems to be pretty accurate & more importantly consistent - so i got it to measure improvements after mods the bhp did seem low when i tried that one, but i'm nto sure whether i'd worked out the weight correctly plus it does as previously mentioned measure more realistically than a rolling road for that money, you can't really go wrong, in my opinion (unless it's broke when it arrives!)
  3. i got about 350+ miles to a full tank in my TT this week with motorway driving pottering about around town all week & it seems to move down the gauge each time i get in it!
  4. just recently treated the car with a trip to Chris Wilson (one of the members on here) highly recommended by alot of people on here too not the closest (about 2hr away? in Shropshire) but i would rather have stuff done by someone who knows their stuff - he does servicing & tuning & also supplies the parts at reasonable prices he can give it a good once over too as well as the service - worth giving him a call can't really comment on anywhere else
  5. did it have a plate that read something like "IAN UK"? if so, then i spotted this today heading just past Blackpool Victoria Hospital we were not really near enough to give a wave but were in the wife's car anyway
  6. it was probably at least 30 mins south of Preston if that makes you feel any better
  7. on Tuesday, mid/late-afternoon, probably around Congleton or thereabouts heading North in the BMW lane i waved as i was heading the other way but we were both moving at pace so you may not have seen me then drove all the way down to Bracknell and didn't see another showed a Carrera S who was boss though
  8. i wish the wife would read some of the stuff on here! then maybe my minor modifications & spending would seem like pence in comparison to some of the things you guys get up to!
  9. have you checked the gaps on them too?

    Hello!!

welcome nice car - sits just right in my opinion & has a lovely subtle difference over the stock look hope to see you about at a local meet sometime being a fellow NorthWesterner anything go on at Middlebrook anymore near you? monthly meets etc? didn't the 200+ club used to meet there each month?
  11. anyone bought the full set of likwid art badges and don't want the horns? i don't fancy taking the originals off but wouldn't mind a set of horns to add on if anyone's got some? cheers, Wes
  12. keep an eye out for me next week (Tues - Fri) as i'm down in Bracknell for a few days & managed to get out of having to hire a car for the work trip
  13. ah, it was the copying the drive bit i was wondering about - is that if you can 'clone' the evaluation subscription? not sure, are we talking about the upgrades it does over the telephone line? if so then it's fine as it's always been connected to the phone line Model: Thomson Scenium Software version: 2.5.5-01-1-023 HDD size: standard (12-40 hours depending on recording quality selected) any more Qs just let me know
  14. it made it in?! sweet! that is fantastic! not had much chance to give it some proper testing since the journey back from Mr Wilsons was a WET one, and i'm talking torrential rain on the motorway got a trip down to Bracknell next week so i'm gonna take it down there for a good run & then give Chris some feedback that he asked for yeah i reckon i should be able to keep up now you don't know about the NOS yet do you
  15. i'll get specifics for you tonight when i get home Gaz, the HDD is whatever the standard one, which i believe could store 12-40 hours worth of recordings, depending on what quality you set it at. Easily upgradeable as many folks have but i just never really filled it that often to bother. @tdaxgav - not sure what you're getting at there geezer @chase - cheers for the link mate Wes
  16. still by far the best DVR on the market but i just don't use it :| the subscription is actually an 'evaluation' one that was applied to the box when it was intended to be a demonstration box in a local TV store, where i knew the manager when it never took off, i bought the box after it had had VERY little use & i have had no problems with it over the years i've had it and obviously never had to pay for subscription it is untouched in terms of hard disk replacement etc so hasn't been messed with in any way i know what it's worth & i'd rather offer it here to people who know what they're looking for & what they're getting etc, before having to deal with the idiots on eBay but have also advertised it elsewhere it will come in its original box with all instructions, cables, etc and is in A1 mint condition with no faults £250 preferably some kind of collection or meet, rather than having to send such an item in the post, but if need be then we can come to some arrangement on courier/recorded/insured delivery or something?
  17. had these made up a while back by a guy who could do custom stuff decided i'd rather wait for something that said 'twin turbo' instead they're made from 2mm satin stainless steel the first measures approx 17cm x 3.5cm and the second is approx 12.25cm x 11cm £5 each + P&P or £10 for both delivered
  18. as new in box, used twice & then work's new laptops came in with built-in wireless £30 incl. postage
  19. it's only useful for when you pull up in the car park at work or at football & you get out in front of everyone, close the door and lock it, whilst the engine is still running then you go to wander off while everyone is still puzzled as to why your engine is still running and then it shuts off! the other use i anticipated it would be for was for running into the shops or using the cashpoint whilst leaving the engine running & taking the keys with you & having the doors locked - but i haven't worked out how to do this yet!
  20. i have a Blitz FATT one and Whifbitz supplied me with a harness that allowed me to fit it myself, only having to find a ground connection to wire up, the rest were sorted by the harness (cost less than £20 & saved hacking ANY wires on the loom etc) mine doesn't do boost pressure though but does calculate what it thinks you should leave the engine running for based on the RPM signals it has monitored over time (i believe) - that is auto mode, or you can just tell it to do a certain amount each time manually
  21. now you've given it away, this surely means all lepton claims are going to lead to convictions that second or so that it caught you by surprise could mean it's all over if he continues to accelerate too right? be on the ball next time & you'll win no probs
