might go for a single layer metalic not as shiny as 2k laquer? any other ideas? i was thinking of trying five wheel silver??

Hi, i have a toyota carina 2 2000 16v efi auto,This is my problem, sometimes its fine and sometimes i just turns over and over and then when you come off the key it tries to go but won't,then if you keep turning it over eventually it just goes,but it is as if its over fueling,once you get it going its fine and will start almost every time.The other thing it does is sometimes when you try and pull away it tries to die then splutters to life and revs through it and sometimes just dies and you have to restart it??? I was told this was the ecu and had that overhaulled but it still does it and i lost my trust in that garage. Some one somewhere must have had this problem? the car has a full service history and is very well looked after but i am getting fed up with spending money and not fixing the problem.i enclose a piccy of engine if anyone can help??????

i have a hks dragger and only up to first cat removed and i have been told that that will pass mot as mine is due in a month! have both your cats been removed ?????????????

just got her 130mph and no cut out gonna rewire that box and check all connections. he must have been telling the truth

Ihave been informed by the bloke i bought my car from that i have a tsd fitted but my car cuts at 120mph?? he also said he was going to take it back to whoever fitted it cos it would work sometimes and not others? it all seems a bit funny to me so i have exposed the ecu and have found a very small black box with 4 coloured wires tapping into the ecu. will this be the tsd or the speedo converter? there are no markings on the black box so i can't tell! can these things work then not work or am i being told a load of rubbish

oh well can everyone keep there ears and eyes open for me and let me know if anything comes up

mine deffo cuts the engine at 120 on the speedo as i tested it twice on the m4? does this mean my speedo is well out? i have had a gps thingy in the car and that says ruffly 5mph under what the speedo says but i think thats ok?

the car has been converted from kph to mph where would this unit be normally so i can check it out to see what sort it is??

i have been reading the threads on the 120 mph cut out and trying to understand what is being said but it seems a bit to technical for me? can anyone just say.. look you take this colour wire disconnect it or put this in instead ? a mate of mine has a 300z and his was restricted to 115mph and all he had to do was insulate a screw on the back of the speedo? can you do the same with the supe? i have a j spec tt 93 auto.. please help as the 120 is rubbish and a good fiesta turbo will do me top end and i can't have that!!!!!!!!!!!!
