Thanks everyone that gives me a better idea. Looks like it might be the time to up grade the internals if the gasket job is going to cost £1300 on its own!

its a tt, i had electric twin fans on there which fused. It was ok when i was doing 70 down the motorway but when the traffic backed up it overheated.

I think mine head gasket has gone. Just wanted to get an idea of the number of hours involved in the repair and an estimate on the cost of the total job before i go to the garage.

I have a new jza80 short block for sale i was going to go for a complete new engine and internals but have since changed my mind. I payed £2000 plus vat for this but am open to offers. Can deliver but obviously will cost you.

Advanced driving is well worth doing for yourself it does make you a better driver. However i've never had any discount on insurance.

Yeah i had a similiar problem with my supe when my wheel fell off! It was painful watching my front bumper grinding against the bed of the truck, luckily the driver owned a modded skyline and was doing the best he could. This raises another point i had an after market bumper on with no towing eye it was pulled on via the hook on the engine. Does anyone sell a towing eye that is compatable with an aftermarket bumper.

Don't think there was any mention of the clutch i presume it must be upgraded?

I think there is no limit on the amount but isn't there an insurance limit of £500.

I would tend to agree with the last comment. I have/had about 500bhp at the wheels with a hks t51r and what a sound it made when it came on song it was like a jet engine. Loads of power very suddenly making it able to wheel spin in fourth in the dry! But mine was on standard internals and i lost a rod bolt totalling the engine. Worth upgrading i would say
