  1. Got a coolant leak at the back of the engine somewhere. It appears to be leaking onto the top of the bellhousing. Cant see anything coming from the heater hoses so the only other coolant hoses I can see are these (see photo). Haven't had time to get under the car yet so does anyone know if it is easy/possible to change these(particularly the hard pipe) with the engine in the car, or if there is anything else that might leak onto the top of the bellhousing.
  2. its under the 'N' of the selector twist it 1/4 turn anticlockwise and pull down. Might be easier if you loosen the 4 screws holding down the selector. You will need a standard push fit panel bulb (£1.00 from the local motor factors), and fit the green plastic cover from your old bulb.
  3. Most insurers dont bother about the odd SP30 these days. Try not to get any more for a couple of years though.
  4. sounds like water causing a short - did you have the hose under the bonnet?
  5. If you're talking about the lights in the rev counter, its a PITA, and start saving - toyota bulbs are not cheap.
  6. It depends how dirty the carpet is really, but have you considered taking out the front seats and using a wet/dry carpet shampooer (one of these: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=3801&productId=155879&clickfrom=name) with the carpets in situ. Not suggesting you buy one - ask your mum LOL. If its a dry day leave the windows open and they dry in about 1hr. Also works well on cloth seats.
  7. Bo[[ocks. I didn't know the letters by the shifter were supposed to light up (thought it was just the lights in the rev counter. Got to go and take mine apart now.
  8. After being rescued by the RAC on monday morning, i'm mobile again. The contacts in the starter solenoid had worn, leaving me with a click and nothing else. Thanks to anyone who has previously posted on this - you saved me 200.00 for a new starter. Total cost of repair 14.86 for the repair kit from Toyota. Total time to do job 2hrs, including 1hr driving to the dealer to get the bits. Just been for a 2hr blast to celebrate!!! Quick tip: Don't remove the bolts from the bellhousing: If you put your hand through the gap over the rear link of the lower wishbone, you can undo the bolts with one hand (using a long wobble bar) while pulling the starter forward with the other, the bolts stay where they are, making it easy to line up the starter when you put it back again. Re fitting is a reversal of the removal procedure.

    Advice Please

The auto is much...much better than the manual! Dont want to start an old argument (there are loads of auto vs manual threads on here), but the auto box is great - don't dismiss it until you've tried it. As for fuel economy, 20mpg on a good day, using 97 ron or higher.
  10. I want it!!!!!!!! Can anyone lend me $135,200.00 please
  11. Might be interested in the wheels depending on how much. PM me

    BPU Mpg

Like the sound of that. What you save on fuel you'll pay for a little man to shove you hard in the chest at every island/traffic lights. I get 19mpg out of mine

  15. You're SOOOO right. Although i've found that the best way to cure this is buy an aerotop. Then they get to argue about weather the roof comes off or not!!!
  16. Bumper?????? I dont even see a car
  17. I 'borrowed' from work some heatshtink crimp terminals. They look like normal inline crimp terminals, but are insulated with heat shrink so you can seal them properly (ideal for underbonnet use). Can highly recommend them as i,ve got them all over the car now. Unfortunately i dont know where you can buy them from.
  18. FYI the low pressure port is at the back, by the bulkhead under the inlet manifold. has a similar grey cap with an L on it.
  19. I've got a TT aerotop and an insurance valuation certificate of 12,000 for it. If i can have your wheels, you can show it your insurance if they want proof of its value. Glad to be of help
  20. Exactly the same thing happened to me last week.......... and tomorrow i'm going to win the lottery as well!!
  21. Try any windscreen repair place (autowindscreens etc) i bought a tube for a tenner for my front lights.

    Friday Joke

Alright, i know its not Friday, but this ones too good to wait. A man was sitting on a beach. Tragically, through a recent car accident, he had lost both his arms and legs. During the long afternoon, as he remained on the beach, three women separately walked past him. Each felt very sorry for the poor man. The first woman said "Have you ever had a hug?" The man said "No", so she gave him a hug and walked on. The second woman said "Have you ever had a kiss?" The man said "No," so she gave him a kiss and walked on. The third woman came to him and said "Have you ever been fcuked?" The fellow said "No". She said "You will be when the tide comes in."
  23. Then next week you can take them all apart again when they fill with condensation cos they haven't sealed properly.... Oh Bugger, that was me!!! This time i went to the local windscreen place and bought some of that black stuff they use for bonding in windscreens - only cost a tenner. Waiting for the next time it rains now to see the results.
  24. Apparently it takes several weeks for new plates to get on the system. My brother-in-law got a tug after 3 weeks in his van and was told by the plod that until the new V5 is generated at swansea the plate wont be on the computer.
  25. Vegas. Although watching Horatio try to be cool is always good for a laugh. Has no-one told him he's a ginger!
