  1. I did that when i was little too. Permanent scarring prevented by my dad who shoved me under the kitchen tap for 10mins until the ambulance arrived. Do not attempt to remove clothes, just soak scalded area under running water. Glad the little'un is ok.
  2. So far: Misters 1. Golf MKIV 2. Skoda something 3. new shape Galaxy (I see a VAG theme here?) 3+ jets 1. Fiat Punto 2. Lexus something On the wiper 1. Celica 2.Pug 405 I'd rather have the mist so if anyone knows of any other possible cars I can raid in the scrap yards please fill in the list
  3. 84999-10750 bulb for:trac/active spoiler/heated seat/hazzard lights. 84999-70009 bulb for heater button backlight
  4. Sorry, just re read your post. The ones in the trac switch are available from toyota as well, will try and find a part no for them as i brought some a while ago.
  5. There are only 5 bulbs that work the backlights in the whole heater panel. 1 behind each dial, 2 for the bottom row of buttons and 1 for the top row. These have a grey base and are available from toyota. The ones that light up to tell you where the air is going are LEDs and not available seperately. if all of these are gone, i suggest you have a wiring problem in the heater panel
  6. If you slam the throttle shut on a FWD car you get lift off oversteer as the weight shifts over the front wheels. Apply opposite lock and full throttle and the car will pull out of the slide and you will look cool. In RWD if you lift off, dont apply too much opposite lock or the back will snap round the other way and you will crash. Hold steady on the pedal and steer into the slide. A good driver will wind down the window at this point and wave to passers by out of the side window.
  7. I've got a finish called "titanium burl wood", think its a Honda colour. I was very impressed with the fit and finish on mine.
  8. 2. Yes, as long as you make sure they are well cleaned before you start. 2 coats of smoothrite and Ebay decals on mine and they still look new 6 months later. 3. Silver or chromed
  9. my local tesco doesn't do it yet. can't wait to try it out when it reaches this far north
  10. Yeah, but they have to give you a discount to make up for having a red one:lol:
  11. Found this: http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=11/32209413788.jpg&s=x11
  12. Just filled up with 97 RON super at Sainsburys in Oldbury: 87.9p per litre. This is the second tank of this now (used BP ultimate before) and the car runs just as well as it used to on BP.
  13. The first one is true - at least nearly true. I watched a documentary on Discovery channel about an Indian woman who had the mummified remains of a 47 year old foetus removed from her, so it can definately happen.
  14. Gobby newbies who probably dont own a sup are best ignored on here, I find, especialy when they name themselves after a truck.
  15. Hang on guys. I drive a supe and a truck and i've seen idiots in both. I don't see why this thread is turning into a car v truck slanging match. We all have to drive on the same over regulated, heavily congested roads safe in the knowledge that at least 50% of the people on them probably shouldn't have a license in the first place. Good driving is all about making safe progress, not bitching about other road users.
  16. By the way 56mph (90kph) is the european limit, even on autobahns.
  17. Depends entirely on the engine and weight. A good modern truck with a 500bhp engine can do 56 mph everywhere, even with a full load. On the flip side some of our smaller trucks can't even maintain 56mph when empty. Then it comes down to the driver - you get dickheads in trucks as well as cars and it pisses me off just as much as you getting stuck behind a truck that has slowed down on a hill cos its run out of power.
  18. Read my earlier post: trucks have speed limiters - our new Volvos put the brakes on as well to make sure we cant go over 56mph. We do 56mph downhill, on the flat and uphill too. It makes no difference where we overtake, we can still only do 56mph.
  19. Speed limiters are not all the same, thats why trucks seem to take forever to overtake. Believe me they are a PITA, but we all want to get home as much as car drivers so if we come across a slower truck we overtake, just like you would in your car. Then the big electronic nanny cuts in and we have to sit there, overtaking at 1/2 mph faster. Blame Europe for that. Kip - why does a lorry doing 30mph in lane 1 force you into a line of traffic in lane 3 doing 10 mph. I see that all the time on the m-way and i still dont understand it.
  20. A truck driver speaks: The speed limits for lorries are: Single carriageway 40mph Dual carriageway 50mph M-way 56mph All trucks built after 1990 are electronicly limited to 56mph (90kph) except the irish registered ones. If anyone here has actually driven a truck, you will notice that they are a little bit bigger than your car, that they bend in the middle and they dont do 0 - 60 in 5.2 sec. We have to use alot of space on islands and sometimes when it is real busy the only way to get out of a junction is to make someone slow down a bit. If you get stuck behind one on a single carriage way you have two options: 1. shut up moaning and live with it. 2. stop driving your big flash jap sports car like a girl and overtake. As for being bad drivers, ask your self this: when the motorway is really busy, why is it always the outside lane that stops first, while the trucks are all still moving. Answer: Cos we are all better drivers than 99% of the cars out there. We spend 10 - 12 hrs a day out there and do anything up to 100 000 miles a year so it stands to reason that we are pretty good at what we do. Finally try and think of a single thing that you own that hasn't been on a truck at some point in its life!!!
  21. Surely since VVTi doesn't alter the duration or lift of the cam (unlike honda VTEC)it isn't going to make all that much difference
  22. Engine oil cooler is a liquid cooled jobbie on top of the oil filter. Tranny oil cooler is inside the bottom of the main radiator and the power steering cooler is a lenght of pipe in front of the air con condensor which should be visible through the front grill (unless you have a FMIC)
  23. Undo the five sided cover ( carefully, its got a spring inside). The two kits you have correspond to the contacts on either side of the solenoid. Take the old ones off carefully, noting the order of the bits, then replace with new. Clean the copper ring on the plunger carefully with a file (i used the wifes metal nail file - she was not happy - but it works), then put it all back together.
  24. Running in neutral means the oil pump in the gearbox isn't working. Wont hurt for a few yards but will knacker the gearbox eventually. Same reason as why you shouldn't tow an auto without removing the prop shaft.
  25. 14mm socket and long(at least 2 foot) wobble bar from underneath. Use 3/8th drive preferably with a ratchet.
