6 x 9 wont fit in the doors, you need 6.5 inch round speakers.
-
They aren't available as a seperate part, i'd wait for a complete second hand cat to come up for sale and replace the lot, they usually go for less than £50. Dont park on any long grass until its changed though.

Did you check that all the valves were free before you installed the cam? Assuming you had them aligned correctly, the first 2 bearing caps you install are on the valves that are open at that point on the cam. If a bucket was stuck it would put a load on the cam and possibly break it, but i wouldn't think a valve spring could apply enough force to break one (unless it was already cracked before install)

If you can wait a week, i'll be doing a step by step guide with photos.

Shouldn't make any difference with yours being vvti. Basically, you set the target boost and go for a drive, once it sees a stable boost pressure signal, it will go into self learning mode and stay there, but there are many complicated bits you can do after that which I don't understand. I've got the instruction manual as a .pdf. PM me your email addy and i'll send you a copy.

How much difference has changing the o2 sensors made to everyone?
TrickTT replied to top's topic in mkiv Technical
Wont make any difference on a dyno run, the output from the O2 sensor is only used for closed loop, low speed running and not used for WOT runs. -
The Apexi AVC-R has a self learning mode, where you enter the desired boost and it adjusts automatically.

The rev limit on mine is 7k. Only way to find out for sure what spec you have is to take the cover off the ecu and send some pics of the mines ecu board to them. They replied to me the same day.

group buy now closed

ECU cant change the boost, you need a boost controller or different wastegate actuator spring for that, but the Mines ecu does change the fuel map so it should make a bit more power, and maps it to higher levels of boost than the stock ecu. Low rpm gearchanges are much the same as stock, but high rpm, full throttle ones are much quicker.

There is still plenty of time for anyone else who wants these to add their names to the list.

That was quick:) I will get the wood ordered on Monday. It will take a couple of weeks to produce these so there is still plenty of time to get your names on the list. Thanks for your custom:thumbs:

Sorry, dont have any photos of a satin black one, but picture the one above, but painted black, and you're nearly there:D. You're right though, there isn't really any point as you wont see it and the wood doesn't need the paint for protection. I had alot of requests on the previous group buys for painted ones so i just supply whats requested. LIST UPDATED 1. Mawby 2. Supradaz 3. Pixelfill 4. markymark 5. Zofix (satin black) 6. GROUP BUY NOW CLOSED For all those who have asked since the last time, sorry its taken so long. Upgraded front door speaker brackets:-These are custom made out of very strong, 18mm marine grade plywood and allow you to replace the standard door speakers and enclosures with any 6.5" or 165mm door speakers using the existing mounting points. They require no modification to the door card or existing speaker grill although you will need some longer mounting screws for the brackets. Cost is £31.50 per pair including paypal fees and UK delivery, or £35.00 finished in satin black. I need at least 15 confirmed orders before I can go ahead. Price is for the brackets only, speakers not included. Once there is sufficient interest, i'll let everyone know payment details, and it will take about 2 weeks to get them made and posted. Please add your names, and which finish you require below: 1. Mawby 2. Supradaz 3. Pixelfill 4. markymark 5. Zofix (satin black) 6. Why T (Satin Black) 7. Chinstrapped (satin black please) 8. Are you working on the ground, or is the car up in the air? Can you get the car on a lift or over a pit, then a good quality spanner, 4ft scaffold pole slipped over the end and a length of wood braced against the nut to hold the spanner in place will shift anything. Edit: do not try this on axle stands or you will pull the car onto your head.
-
I think that is comparing to a single coil and distributor set-up. Compared to a coil-over-plug, each coil would be firing twice as often.
-
Anyone with a VVTi. Cant see a good reason to fit it to a pre-VVTi TT though. A step backwards IMO. Why not just go the whole way and fit contact breaker points.
-
The mines ecu is quite a complicated bit of kit. They remove 2 big chips from the stock board and attach the mines daughter boards to the motherboard in place of those big chips. This is the inside of mine, its from an auto so i assume that one of those daughterboards is to run the gearbox:
-
The 2 main ECU fuses under the bonnet are permanent live to the ECU, there is a 3rd ecu fuse in the footwell that is ignition switched.

Am i too late to add my name to the list? I'd like one with No logo and 2 blanking plugs please:)
