  3. Enjoy a "Well Earned" Day Off, sometimes nice people get nice surprises in life ! Better take some factor 20 though as it`s going to be a scorcher ! I`ve been told getting out of the track does require the patience of a saint !

    Hii new Supra

This reminds me of Flatty Puss ! "Is there a car I can`t sell " comes to mind !

    aero top

I used a bit of silicon sealant on the 4 corners and put the roof on, if you`re careful removing the roof the first time the silicon stays put on the roof bit. If there is a GB Nic pm me a price as well mate ?
  6. Lots of abbrev`s here but you`ll get the idea, I`ve a TT aerotop so join an exclusive group, does anyone know how many TT aerotops were made BTW ? If you experience a rattle on rough roads tighten the 4 aerotop bolts with the allen key ratchet as thats the first fix, it takes a few go`s to master putting the top in the boot, I still struggle as the sun until now has rarely been out. Try a " search " first before asking questions on the forum as you may get a few "sarcastic" comments from a few members who are bored and may have a go, like every community in the world unfortunately. Apart from that its easy here, try not to get too carried away and don`t remortgage your home to keep up with people`s modifications as its very easy when "BPU" is mentioned, a Supra isn`t a good investment (like a pension) but can be as good as Alton Towers and can be cheaper than drugs. prostitutes and a jail sentence I`ve been told !
  7. Sometimes its better to wait until the "Initial Eager Victims" of firmware updates, do the R + D for the provider of the firmware update. I have a Mac running Tiger so I can vouch for the R + D thing, its a million miles better than XP (wait for more Windows / Mac reactions) ! Sometimes its better, sometimes its worse, "However if you don`t move forward then you will get extinct" where`s my T Rex !
  8. RedM I wasn`t just talking about your situation, earlier in the thread someone said they`d had matt harwood install a RLTC and for 2 years no probs and its still fine, their firmware is probally older than ours as we`ve just bought the latest all singing / dancing version. Its a bit like that new ocean liner that was the best ever but had to return to port due to an engine fault. If I was that person would I want to update my RLTC firmware, if you speak to an IT person they will tell you "there is a risk of permanent damage if the update is interrupted" . Its different to software, your DAT file like mine is fine in theory but the problem may lie somewhere else, maybe firmware, maybe hardware, maybe wiring. My nephew works for Peugeot and tells me if you install aftermarket Sat-Nav the ECU needs reprogramming, I paid £300 for a Renault Laguna Plip Key and a new ignition barrel lock from Renault as there is no alternative. I got a Toyota Supra key copied for £4 from a local locksmith. Experts are just the same as us sometimes, the people who sorted our Renault out were honest and said there were a number of common faults and tried 2 out of the 3 before it was fixed.
  9. In essence its probally worth getting this "Swap Out Plug" as all its going to do that is important is reconnect the 6 injector connections, if they offer you this free "GRAB IT" as its your get out of jail card Mate !
  10. If it will then I`ll come up Saturday morning / afternoon and pick it up ! PM me with your address and post code, what time is best for you ? Thanks in Advance Milocoon
  11. A Firmware update is launched to get rid of bugs in software / hardware interfacing problems. Pioneer for example issue regular updates for DVD Writers for computer DVD drives. Each installation may have unique variations, I have a HKS Speed Limit Defender and a non-branded speedo conversion chip, some folks have a different ECU like EManage etc. What happens to me may be different to person B, its Evolution and sometimes this years upgrade can be a backward step for some people. It`s interesting about the Launch Control Bug as i have A Digital Adjuster so I`m tempted to raise my limit to outside the cars range so it won`t work. Its all about pro`s and cons at the end of the day and as long as its better for most then RLTC is a good idea, I`ve had one bad experience, RedM has had a lot more but to be honest the installer was the real problem. I`m not an auto-electrician but a reasonably proficient handyman and It was not easy to use the multi-connector plugs but ESSENTIAL for anyone considering RLTC if it were to misbehave !
  12. No I did actually tap in on the rear of the tacho head (second go in this install) and run a longer cable to the rpm wire as the original source A1-28 only gave 1/6 the rpm signal. I`ve had zero problems since then untill i returned from France. I did cane it a bit on an empty peage motorway (well it was empty and I`m paying a few euros, it slowly climbed from 130 to 150 leptons and I bottled out, it felt good though !), in Le Havre the roads were worse than UK and its possible the car shook the RLTC or inline fuse holder. It was OK after the ferry (cooled down for 7 hours) so its very hard to diagnose the problem ? Thanks for the offer of a free health check, I`ll be around maybe on your open day, I`d like to re-iterate to forum members that i find your attitude totally focused to good customer relations and i trust you 100%. I`m not so sure of other traders as one or two have been slow to respond in the past, I won`t mention names but it`s not LUCIFER or NIC ! :p
  13. You are just too nice ! The modern world is not ready yet ! Seriously thats a really nice gesture, I have had an RLTC problem as well but like all these intermittent problems its hard to diagnose ! Cheers Milocoon:p :p
  14. Mine was okay today, getting a bit paranoid however I did use the plug connectors so at a push i can over ride and revert to standard. I`m not sure where my problem came from, the car was well hot as I`d done 150 leptons for 4 miles in France. Reading the manual it could be anything from a faulty abs speed sensor triggering the unit to ? On the yahoo forums it appears another user had a faulty RLTC unit with similar problems to my brand new unit, just as well theres a 2 year warranty I guess ! Annoying thing is I`ve never had it cut in yet whilst driving in bad conditions or hard around roundabouts, guess I`ve got to push that pedal harder, it did go sideways in December before the RLTC !
  15. I crimped and soldered the 6 wires to each plug as I wanted the option to go back to standard in case the RLTC played up. I`m suspecting the unit or possibly the inline fuse holder getting hot as they`re both next to the transmission tunnel although I have some bubble wrap keeping the RLTC away from direct contact. The other possibility is the "other half " does fidget and move her legs around in the footwell and may have moved the carpet a little and that may have moved the RLTC or the inline fuse holder. When it stops raining I think I`m going to site both of these in a different location. The multipin plugs are a really tight fit once you`ve worked out how to assemble them correctlly as you can put the pins in upside down in the plastic plugs so I don`t think its them. I`ll give RLTC a ring next week to see if they`ve any ideas. The misfire was like a sequence, with the Digital Adjuster you can try "injector cuts" in the menu and it felt like this and wouldn`t rev very high at all.
  16. Whilst driving in France I came across a few steep downhill roads and wondered if I was treating the auto box correctly by downshifting from "D" to "2" as the brakes seemed to be fading a bit. In the UK this isn`t as extreme so I wondered how other people drive their TT Auto`s ? It`s a lovely gearbox when you`re queing but its a strange concept when you break due to no engine breaking ? Thanks Milocoon
  17. I have just returned from France and the car was perfect for 850 miles and a pleasure to drive. Has anybody on this forum had RLTC play up after driving for a LONG (300 miles) journey ? My unit is next to the auto-box tunnel and after a 5 hour drive it threw a wobbly and caused the car to mis-fire just as I was getting on a ferry home, I had just refuelled so thought it was water in the fuel initially but a nagging doubt said it was an RLTC injector cut ! I did get the car on the ferry and it was a bit scary as the power was down and ranged from 300 to 1000 rpm on tickover and you could feel the vibration in the cabin. It was literally 1/2 mile from the ferry checkin to the ferry but of course it seemed to take ages. It had 6 hours to cool down on the crossing home and the car was perfect again. 1) Fuse Holder expanding / contracting with heat from the tunnel ? 2) RLTC Unit getting hot and causing misfire sequence ? Thanks Milocoon
  18. Just back from a trip to Benodet in Brittany, mainly driven in top gear TT Auto between 2000 and 3500 RPM. However did manage about 10 miles on a completely empty Peage Motorway near Le Havre at 150 Leptons and it was still going but my bottle ran out, revs were still low and there was more to come. Completely STD engine. 27 mpg average over our 950 mile holiday ! Came back to the UK and totally disgusted with the state of our third class roads, you don`t have manhole covers sunk into a dual carriageway in France, they are off the road so cars don`t damage alloy wheels etc Weather was slightly better than the UK we had two dry days, saw one police car and made great progress on uncongested roads, felt like a pleasure driving !
  19. Didn`t seem very big, it was low level and reasonably quiet but banked over, the 4 engines give it away, Bristol and Broughton were the real targets today ! I saw on the news that Heathrow told Airbus keep it Quiet and they obeyed ! Its like any other airplane / ford mondeo ! Sorry but CONCORDE is better, bit like a SUPRA TT really, bloody expensive, bad for the enviroment but it ain`t BLAND and like a Dinosaur maybe extinct in a few years ! Does anyone here know how to decat an A380 that would be most excellent !
  20. 350Z Roadster arrived ! Did I guess right ? What prize do I get as i was the first person with the right answer ?
  21. Pink Wire on the 40 pin connector thats at 6 O Clock as you look at the 3 x 40 pin connectors (nearest the floor), from memory its pin 2 but its defenitely PINK . E10 is where its located and you cut it and pass the signal from the SLD to the ECU side of the pink wire to clamp or limit its value, you might need to lengthen your YELLOW wire from behind the speedo head to reach the footwell to join to the cut PINK wire on the ECU side of the cut.

    My new beast?!??

Nice Bike, okay for a short journey but as your over 6 foot tall I expect that you`ll find it cramped. I had a CBR1000FM back in 1993 and that was better for comfort and very quick, watch out for the fuzz as they will think you`re Karl Fogarty or whoever the current champ is these days !
  23. And what a "Craik" it was, anything from T Be Sure to Buy One Get One Free, do a search and the guy is still here Supra-Less as he sold it for 99 Oil Wells off of George Bush (I can sell any car for an oil well !) Yee Hah ! PS : Flatty Puss do NOT piss off to Oz as I will miss U ! Everybody else is so boring !
  24. Just a couple of Questions, Interested in a P/X for an Aerotop TT ? Whats the drive like in this in stop / start traffic as this would have to be a daily drive car ? Is the clutch literally ON / OFF or is it controllable ? Thanks milocoon
  25. They employ Kosovan and East European immigrants on a £0.25 per tyre puncture basis, your G/F is not involved trust me as she`s on my lap now performing. You are so paranoid when the truth is simple ! Blah Blah Blah and its not April 1st !
