  1. I`ve been to the dealer in Bristol (5 miles from me) and I found the cars to be a bit tatty, I think that one was the one I looked at back in August and if it is the wheels were kerbed badly. I bought yesterday an M (1995) TT Aerotop with 75,000 miles (first 18,000 were km) in white from a private seller (Autotrader) who has only had 1 visitor who dropped the price to £6,500. When I join the club I`ll post some pictures. No Supra of this age I`ve seen is mark free but I`m happy. The rear hatch is rattly ( I think its the usual rubbers), the front pads squeal, it had Jap and some UK history and was sold in 1999 for £20,000. Its standard apart from the alloys which I liked and is so quiet on tickover you wouldn`t know the engine was running. I took a workmate for a straight line blast today and he almost s**t himself, he couldn`t believe the performance its got. The seller MOT`d it and it sailed through, the price of these cars has dropped a lot since I`ve been looking and if I were you I`d strongly consider the club members cars first rather than a dealer, a few people here may be expecting too much for their cars but at least they`ve been cared for properly. I`ll repeat the price for my Twin Turbo Aerotop again it was only £6,500 an absolute bargain !
  2. It has a few useful features like only downloading part of the torrent (eg you can just d/l a sample of a movie to check the quality) but one big disadvantage is that a few trackers like demonoid doen`t have their statistics updated correctlly. The official client is best for "most" people and is also more stable.
  3. Been here 3 times now, stayed at the Riu Merengue twice (they`ve just recovered from a major Norwalt Virus epidemic - a Canadian brought it into the country) and its 4 star luxury with great food and facilities. Also stayed at the Iberostar Costa Dorada (you can walk to Playa Dorada from here) - we experienced a few big earthquakes here but it didn`t spoil our holiday once we realised the hotel was well built. Again 4 star luxury with a great pool. Playa Dorada still has building work going on near the beach but it shouldn`t affect you. If you`ve read this far you might be thinking not for me matey ! However its fantastic here even with the regular afternoon rain storm (Hurricane Season is from June until October BTW) Really good trips to go on are either the Monster Jeep or Outback Safari, the Amber Museum and Puerto Plata tour are a bit naff, if the Atlantic Ocean is calm then a Catamaran trip is well worth it. You will stay mainly in the complex apart from trips as there is nowhere to go like in Britain, crime is low but don`t wear jewellry on the beach, leave it in your room safe. Sun Tan Cream take PLENTY as its very expensive, take some Mosquito Repellent with DEET in (we had some brand called Jungle). The sun is very strong so take it easy for the first few days and keep out of the sun at lunchtime, never had a dodgy tummy but if your omelette or eggs are runny then get the cook to cook them a bit longer. Take some larger trousers as you will gain at least 1/2 a stone for the trip home. The Duty Free at Puerto Plata airport is well stocked and cheap, local rum from a shop outside is about £1.50, 151 Rum (yes 70% proof) is really a cocktail rum and I was told not to take it on an aircraft as its classified Highly Flammable, the normal Brugal Brown rum is OK though ! 4. I want an aerotop so I have 2 choices an auto NA or auto TT model, has anybody any advice on either model good or bad to help me on a Standard Specification Japanese Import. I gather insurance is 19 or 20, is there a huge difference driving a TT or would an average to enthuisastic owner really notice the difference with a TT ? Will a TT auto on a run average 23 mpg ? Will a NA auto on a run average 25 mpg ? (assuming it is kept under 80 MPH) Please give me your experiences to date with reliability issues on either model or anything else relevant that may have caused you concerns ? Has anyone had any good / bad experiences with Jap Imports in general or with a company called Rising Sun Imports who I may be using shortly ? Thanks Mike Age 44 recent cars S2000GT, Celica GT
