  1. I dont think I can afford to start tinkering with the tranny cooling. Will look for something stock. Also too close to xmas at the moment, although I could ask Santa!!!
  2. Thanks for that Far, thats brightened up my day!!!
  3. Thanks Paul, how much for the PWR btw?
  4. A reply! Thank you! Yes, the radiator is probably the original... Would probably benefit from a "new" one. Any idea how much they go for? Fortunately the car is not going to be driven and the garage is only a mile down the road... Ho hum... and just before Xmas as well!!!
  5. The car has been parked up in the driveway now for 3 months. It has been run twice in that time and both times I've noticed water coming out of the bottom of the car after I have switched the engine off. I think it is coming from either side of the radiator but cannot be sure at the moment. On Saturday it really chucked alot of water out and it seems as if there maybe an air bubble in the system somewhere as the level looks ok in the tank!!! Does this sound like the joins between the pipes and the radiater perishing? I hope its not a new radiator job!!! Any help gratefully appreciated. Thanks chaps!
  6. Would say yes, but have taken the car off the road until the new year... may pop along to say hi though.
  7. Thanks for the advice guys. I'm really reluctant to take it off the road, but I cant justify the cost of keeping it running for the possibility of driving it once a week at the moment.
  8. Its an Auto, so leaving the handbrake wouldnt be a problem!
  9. Driveway is fairly secure, but I think I'll leave the battery in. Hmmm.... 'that great inner feeling' not quite sure about that I suppose I could rent out a few bits!!!
  10. Is it best to remove the battery completely? Scooter, please elaborate on the benefits for me and the car!!!!!
  11. I'm thinking of taking the Supe off the road until after Christmas. I need to save a bit of cash for the house and boring stuff like that and this seems like as good a time as any. Is there anything I should do before leaving it in the driveway for 4 months? I've been thinking of getting a cover and checked out the recent threads on here, but am not sure about wheels, fluids etc... All help appreciated as usual.
  12. Looks like that Covercraft place is good. I've hardly been driving the car recently and will be taking it off the road for 3 months. Its covered in dust and stuff just from the past 3 weeks. Need a good cover if its gonna be sitting still for that period of time.
  13. Dont hold back mate Hmmm tend to generally agree... someone persuade me otherwise? what do they do other than act as a countdown timer?
  14. Yep, had the thought about my old Lancia... becoming a rust bucket and I'm sure I could get more for the turbo, the engine block and the wheels if sold separately. Cant be arsed to break it though!
  15. Glad you've left the spoiler off Rob I've had mine upto 165 indicated (didnt take it any faster that time cos I ran out of road!!!). It felt very solid. It doesnt have a full undertray, although I have heard that this would make a difference... It feels safe over 140 every time I've been upto that speed...
  16. Nah... unfortunately the original notice was within the period. I wrote to them asking for the photos, but they've just written back and said get on with filling the form in. I've got an appointment with a solicitor next monday, so I might be able to get them to fill the form in for me, and return it unsigned along with a letter stating that I cannot remember who was driving at the time, it could have been me or Susie! Hopefully, unless the photos prove otherwise they may well drop it. I think it was a mobile camera. The site where it says it was taken is not a fixed site, but it is on the list of camera sites...
  17. D'Oh!!! Oxy, not sure if they have mobile spec or not! They might have just been stuffing their faces with doughnuts!
  18. Got a reply back for my request to see the photos... well, they didnt say "no you cant see the photos", they just said "fill in the form". Gits. I think I'll just write back to them and say that either one of us could have been driving the car that day... Do I have to return an unsigned form also with the letter that I'm gonna write?
  19. Sounds good Rob. I never have the guts to really let fly with the car on the road and dont really want the expense of a full on track day. Something like this would be ideal
  20. But I'd need to hold one in each hand to recreate the test After seeing all these flags bent double on cars travelling down the motorway I was thinking about development cost of producing a flag thats wind tunnel tested So, no answers to the original question then?
  21. Cant wait to see what all the fuss is about CJ. I'll bring an Orange along for comparison...
  22. Thats odd, maybe I heard it wrong, but when Clarkson tested that diesel A8 he said that the A/C used more fuel than leaving a window open!
  23. I was watching a stupid article on the news the other night where they wind tunnel tested those England flags that everyone has on their cars. The results showed that at a steady 60mph fitted to a Ford Focus, the drag coefficient went up from 0.32 to 0.36 with a flag on each front window. The reporter said that "drag increased by 10%" Is this true... does an increase of 10% in the drag coefficient mean a 10% increase in drag? I find it hard to believe that 2 little flags will cause that much increase in drag!
  24. Bloody hell... Simple honest question, and everyones duffing each other up! Not going to summarise whats been said, cos I think its been done several times on each page! Despite that people are still going rround in circles This is a god club, run by people with a genuine enthusiasm for their cars and who put a bloody great deal of effort into this for no direct financial reward. In any case, if it is that much effort maybe they should get a few quid out of it. I've got no problems with that!
