May have been pabs who lives round the corner on my estate.Does the reg end in "E".He registered on this forum,but doesn't seem to post much on here.Nice bloke though.

So what did u do in the end with the tyre situation carlos.Sorry if I missed it somewhere.I had a puncture from a mahoosive nail on my left rear tyre this morning.The right side still has plenty of thread so I would like to know if I should just replace one/both.They are Vredesteins as well and my local garage can't get hold of them.Good tyres these,I'll have to check online to mailorder it once I know whether to replace one or both. I've just checked and couldn't find a way of switching off the shutter noise.Will check the manual latertonight and post back here.'Tis an excellent camera though this 350D mate

The EF lenses do fit the 350D if you are still thinking about it.I'm using my 70-300 ultrasonic EF lens with it.

I've had my Canon 350D for a few months now and is well pleased.Don't think you will easily find a better one for same money.Check Dealtime on the internet for specials
