  1. Still a good 40minute drive and don't want to drive it too much further to avoid any further damage
  2. Based in Rugby, Warwickshire. My local mechanic seems to think it sounds like the brake but the quickest he can get it booked in is next Saturday which isn't ideal. Trev
  3. Reason I ask is that my missus took her car to Kwik fit the other week and they were pretty good at identifying a faulty sensor she had on her car and didn't charge her. If it is something minor then I'd rather not have to fork out £100+. Ill speak to my nomal garage first and see what he says. Trev
  4. The car had been standing for a while as Jon said he hadn't driven it properly in a couple of months so fingers crossed it might be something minor. Would anyone recommend somewhere like Kwik Fit to take a look?
  5. Like I said checked it properly using the guide from on here, the tracking seemed fine and the car was braking in a straight line etc. If it is a sticking caliper is it likely the caliper can be repaired of will it need replacing? Also is there any recommended sellers or places to buy jspec discs and pads? Trev
  6. The bonnet is an easy fix but the brakes are a bit more concerning. I've always had to do a few little things to any Supra I've bought to get them up to the standard I want but I am a bit dissappointed that I have to potentially shell out so early on. As it only happened half an hour into my journey home and not on my test drive I didn't pick up on it sooner. Plus the discs looked fine and have plenty of life on them so I thought all was well. Trev
  7. Ill get the car into the garage for a once over. Hoping I don't need to replace the discs as they are like new with loads of life left in them but if the caliper has caused some damage Ill replace both discs and pads at the same time. Not a great way to start Supra ownership. I am started to think NA stands for 'Never Again'. Trev
  8. Not really what I was looking for. I wanted a stock car and the one I got is stunning. Looks like new and is a credit to its previous owners. Let just hope I am not in for a big bill for brakes and alignment
  9. Find me another quicksilver facelift NA, with 55k miles on the clock for £3700.
  10. Hi all Just got my new Supra home and it appears the bonnet isn't sitting quite flush when its closed and sits up a little. I've avoided pressing down on the bonnet and instead tried dropping the bonnet from a little higher to avoid denting/benting it but it still doesn't look quite right. Any ideas on how to get the bonnet flush? Trev
  11. Hi all Well, I've just got back from a top gear style adventure to pick up my new Supra. I've covered 800 miles in 2 countries today to collect the car. Overall I am very pleased with the car, its in extremely good condition and its good to get back into a Supra again. I forgot how good they are at mile munching. However on the drive home the car started juddering at 70mph and the steering wheel started vibrating. This kept happening and seemed to occur briefly after the car had come to a stop and then pulled away again. The only way I can describe what was happening was that it was like driving over rumbles strips in the road. After about 1-2 minutes of driving the vibration faded away and the car drove as normal. I was a bit worried that it could be an engine problem but would this cause the steering wheel to judder? Once home I checked around the car and the drivers side brake was extremly hot. Therefore does it sound like it could be an issue with the brake sticking, something caught in the brake or could the disc have warped? Any ideas on what is causing this would be a massive help. Thanks Trev
  12. You are indeed correct, I do have the facelift seats. Ill have to keep looking for some that are suitable Trev
  13. Cheers chaps, these look pretty good. I might try and get a set in black/grey. Trev
  14. Hi all Does anyone know of any good suppliers of quality leather seat covers for a mkiv supra. The NA I've just bought has the later design material seats which don't look great so what options are there to tidy them up. Trev
  15. Awesome! How is she, doesn't look like the cars changed too much since I owned it? I've just bought Supra number 3, another NA, this time in Quicksilver and can't wait to pick it up on Wednesday.
  16. Hi All I just saw that my old 96 RSP NA supra has just sold on ebay for £3500. Did anyone on here buy it? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290393378758&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I owned it a little under 2 years ago and it was a lovely car but I believe the guy I sold it to had a spin and knackered the wheels and rear suspension on the car. Here is what it looked like when I owned it: Trev
  17. There is no danger of me not looking after it. This will be my third Supra and I think my last 2 weren't too bad: Supra 1: - 96 Gunmetal Grey NA http://www.gt40builder.com/image-dump/sup1.jpg Supra 2: - 96 Royal Sapphire Pearl NA Looking forward to getting back into a supra again. Would have been nice to have gone for a turbo this time but I have a Ford GT40 as a project car which should be plenty fast enough for the weekends once its finished Trev
  18. Hi Jon Sent you a PM. Ill definitely take the car and can come up one day next week to collect it. Send me a PM and we can arrange collection etc. Cheers Trev
  19. What happened to the side skirt/sill. Looks all bent out of shape on that photo. Was that caused when you spun the car?
  20. Also just found a company that sell devil wheels and they have a supra in their gallery with the same wheels. They say they are AXE AP41 so might be worth giving them a call also. The company is Autopart UK http://www.autopartuk.com/images/library/702_AP41_Toyota_Supra_01.jpg http://www.autopartuk.com/images/library/AP41_500x500.jpg Additional info on axe wheels here http://www.axe-alloys.co.uk/p1039109.htm
  21. Hi Darren Just happened to stumble upon this old post and seen that you pranged my old car. As for the wheels they are Devil rims but as I didn't have them fitted I can't tell you the specific model of wheel they are. The documents that came with the car did include a reciept for the wheels and tyres so it might be worth digging it out and giving the place that fitted the wheels originally a call to see if they can help you locate a replacement. Trev
  22. Thanks for the links, already seen the second one and was pretty tempted. Have emailed the guy about the first kit too to see what parts he's missing to complete the build and work out how much of a saving there is to be had on what he's selling. Cheers Trev
  23. Maybe until you drove off: I don't think people would think it was an mr2. As good as some of the replicas are you can still tell they aren't real 355's. They are too small for a start. Then again, I guess I wouldn't want people thinking I drove a Toyota
  24. Hey Marc Glad to hear my old car is being looked after. I have been looking at unfinished project Ultimas but the problem is finding one thats only just been started. The reason for this is that I'd need to lower the floor (due to my height) and also if I were to fit a bmw v10 the chassis requires some modifications such as fitting new mounting brackets etc for the engine. So the key is to find a kit without too much work done on it for v8 fitment. Let me know if you spot any though Trev
