  2. Think these Antera wheels are ok. I did a very quick bit of photoshopping to see what they might look like on a supra. Looking for a new set of alloys for my sup at the moment also. Think I might go for a something like the oz canyon wheels. Not that keen on the rivot like detailing on the antera's. I like a the less complicated look of the oz's What do you guys reckon?
  3. Hi Guys I have been looking for a new set of wheels for a while now but can't seem to find any I like. I think I want to go for some 5 spokes in a gunmetal finish to match my car with maybe a chrome outer rim but finding some is very difficult indeed. Does anyone know of any wheels in this colour? Or maybe you lot have some suggestions on alternative wheels that would suit my gunmetal supra. Cheers
  4. Hi guys Right I know the TT supra is a far better car in terms of performance and spec to the n/a version but how can there be such a price difference in the two? I recently purchased my first supra. It’s a 97 facelift NA in gunmetal grey. It looks stunning and is in great condition with 49000 miles on the clock. The previous owner really looked after this car and apart from the couple of tiny scratches on the bumper its in mint condition. The thing is I paid £8300 for the car but if I was to get a similar aged supra in the same colour and miles but as a TT it seems that they go for around twice the price. Example: There is a 98 TT supra on autotrader with 7000 more miles than mine going for £16995 Surely this car can’t be worth over twice as much as mine. Is it that I got a good deal or that this TT is over priced or is it just that NA’s are worth half as much as a TT. Your thoughts please Cheers
  5. bronze supra Dale Street, leamington spa, 11th may 2005 at around 3:30pm Sorry if it was you and i totally ignored you but I was in my own little world as my sup was producing a weird noise from the back of the car and was concentrating on that.
  6. Saw a green supra driving towards leamington spa from the m40 on sunday (1st May) while on the way to Stratford-upon-avon and then a gunmetal grey supra on the way back along the A46. Was this you? There seemed to be a lot of nice cars around my way over the weekend due to the national kit car show at stoneleigh. Trev
  7. Thanks for all your comments so far. I think the general view is that wheels look pretty good but are maybe a bit too black and would look better if they were more grey/titanium in colour. Has anyone got any suggestions on an alternative set of wheels that have a titanium finish as I am finding them hard to come by. Cheers
  8. Hi Guys Been thinking of getting some new wheels for my car. Been looking through loads of wheel websites for ideas and came across a porsche 911 turbo with a set of really nice black alloys with polished chrome on the outer rim. Anyway I very quickly edited a picture of a gunmetal supra like mine with a set of kind of carbon grey alloys with the chrome outsides similar to the porsches looking wheels. Have a look at let me know what you think. Do you think these kind of style wheels could work on a supra and is there anyone that has these kind of wheels on their car? Cheers
  9. Hi Guys I Recently bought my supra and looking at spending a few quid here and there on the car. One issue I have is with the brakes. Aparently the disks were replaced about 6 months ago and they seem ok but they don't seem to have much stopping power. I was wondering if its possible to fit brakes from a UK TT to an SZ as I heard they are much better than the japanese ones. Is this the case and is it an easy conversion. Otherwise can anyone recommend any other brakes from companies such as Brembo etc. Cheers
  10. Think I saw your Blue evo 6 last night and this morning. Have you got red mud flaps on it? If it is yours, nice motor!!
  11. I do really like leamington, its a really nice town to live in but one things for sure the roads are rubbish. Theres alway some kind of work going on at the bottom of the parade. As for the Jap car meet, sounds good. I have only just got my motor so would defintitly be up for meeting a few other jap car owners. How many people are you expecting to turn up?
  12. Hi Guys Could anyone tell me what this is. I found it in my engine bay balanced next to one of my head lights and don't know what it is or where its from. Its looks like a small rubber u-bend and has M25 written on the top if thats any help. Here are some pics of it. If anyone knows what this mystery part is and where it lives that would be a big help. Oh one other thing . The headlight it was next to has just been cleaned and resealed by the garage I got it from due to condensation build up in it. Cheers
  13. Was this you driving out of leamington spa on the A425 yesterday in a silver supra? Also I see a red Supra about in leamington Spa so again is this you? It would be good to find some other supra owners from the Leamington area.
  14. Hi Guys Does anyone know the performance figures for the supra n/a. I have just bought one but was wondering what I can expectin terms of 0-60, 0-100, top speed, mpg etc. Cheers Trev
  15. right ill see if i have got this right. the red button allows my to move the changer without the car being switched on - GOT IT! Then if i want to go into manual mode I select D then press the manual button. (is there a light on the dash to show its engaged). Now in manual mode do i just knock the lever up and down to go through the gears? Finally to get out of manual mode is it just a case of pressing the manual mode button again? Its all very confusing....
  16. Hi guys Right I am a bit confused about the auto box on the mkiv supra. In japanese performance magazine a review on the mkiv supra says and I quote "The four speed ECTiS automatic transmission is not particularly out of place in this potent machine, because its electronic control allows it to switch between normal automatic action for relaxed driving and A MANUAL MODE when the driver feels more agressive." could anyone tell me if this is the case with the auto box on the mkiv supra and if so how do you switch between the manual and auto mode and how does the manual mode work. I have included a picture of the type of box in question. I know this might sound like a stupid question but I need to know for when I go and test drive a supra on saturday. Also what does the button to the left of the changer do (see picture) and the little red button to the right? Any help would be much appreciated Cheers Trev

  18. Hi Guys Been to test drive a 97 supra sz today but had a few problems using the automatic gearbox I haven't driven a supra before let alone an automatic one so it was a bit alien to me. The problem I had was that I couldn't get it out of park and into drive. In the end it relyed on me pressing a little red button to the right of the changer to move it. As the car is a japenese import the writing next to the button is in japanese. Does anyone know what this button does and what the label says? Also on the changer there are two buttons. One which i held in while changing from park to drive etc and then a smaller button underneath. again does anyone know what this does? Also I read a review of the mkiv supra in japanese performance magazine and it said that you can have the auto box in normal mode or a manual mode. Is this true and if so how is this mode selected and used. One final one for you, does the 97 sz have a kick down. I tried it a couple of times but nothing happened? If you haven't guessed I am not a mechnically minded driver and can't speak japanese so if anyone could explain the auto box to me a bit more that would be great. Many thanks Trev
  19. Hi guys Right I have been to look at a 1997 supra sz today. It looks mint in terms of exterior panels etc and ran fine with no rattles or suspious noises. Engine was clean all fluids etc were fine and its just been serviced and mot'd about two weeks ago. The only thing i did notice was that when I got the guy to blip the throttle a couple of times there seemed to be quite a bit of water come out of the exhaust and white smoke (not blue). Could anyone tell me is this a bad sign. After about 4-5 minutes of the car idleing there was nothing even when revving it hard. Any help on this would be great as I don't want to but a car thats got something wrong with it.
  20. Wow I just put a deposit down on a supra and was just checking the insurance. Sky Insurance undercut Adrian Flux by £450. Result!!! Trev
  21. Hi Guys Does anyone know what make of bbs wheels and size where fitted to the last made supras. I can't seem to find out the wheel info anywhere. I think they really suit the supra, especially gun metal supras. They only seem to appear on really late supras such as the 2002 supra i have included a picture of. The reason I am asking is that as some of you may know I am frantically trying to find a supra to buy and have a couple lined up to view over the next week and when I do finally get one I think a nice set of wheels will be on my shopping list and these bbs wheels look superb. Cheers Trev
  22. Hi guys I am going to have a look at a 97® Toyota Supra 3.0n/a in the next couple of days and was wondering if any owners could give me some handy tips on what to look for when buying a supra of this age, mileage etc. From what I can gather it seems that supras are usually trouble free and very reliable but is there anything I should be looking for? The cars specs: 3.0i 24v 235bhp facelift model 43,000 miles auto with overdrive central locking electric mirrors electric windows air con electric seats leather interior ABS Any help with this would be much appreciated Trev heres a couple of pics of the car.
