Just saw this, so apologies if this is a re-post. http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com/catalog-detail.php?ID=6018 Not sure if i like it. The front looks great and the lights are very nice but the bonnet lines just don't look right. Also think the back of the car seems too round with a shape shark like front. What do you guys think?

Hi Guys As some of you may have seen I have been looking into possibly buying a new car. I have quite a good budget and had originally narrowed the list of possible cars down to either a Lotus Exige S2 or a Noble M12. However I seem to keep coming back here and looking at some of the cars and realising can't seem to justify spend almost twice as much as a low mileage RZ on one of these cars. For the money I am looking at spending I could get 2 supras. So the question is should I get another Supra? If I do it has to be a TT as the old car was an NA and it needs to be a facelift model but in what colour. I loved the gunmetal grey one i had but also like RSP, oh and then again black supras look good too. Actually they look pretty good in white or red also. You guys need to help me, should i get another supra and what colour? Also does anyone know of any facelift TT's for sale? There doesn't seem to be many around at the moment?

Here you go, don't know if this is any good -
Thats the one concern at the moment as i am 6ft 2. But again i am told by other exige owners that its not a problem. I think its because they are taller than the elise probably to allow the extra room for crash helmets. Also I saw the 2 clarkson reviews on the exige and the exige S. He moaned about getting in and out but not the headroom so i think it will be ok.

I have considered the 2 car option but then you also need to consider space, running costs etc. 2 lots of insurance, tax MOT and servicing isn't cheap and room in London is another issue. I am planning to keep what ever I get securely parked in a garage but I don't know many people with a nice double garage down here. So what I want is the happy medium between track day supercar that is still useable as a road car. A porsche sounds like a good idea but just seems to lack the drama I am looking for. If i was thinking with my heart then I'd get a TVR. They have everything I want apart from reliability. So I need to find something with the drama and wild looks of a TVR with the reliabilty of a Japanese hatchback. This makes me think it will either be a Noble M12 (need to do some research on these to see about servicing and what they are like as a daily car) or a Lotus Exige. I know a couple of people on here have been saying about the S1's being unreliable and having issues but theres one thing you need to remember. The Exige S2's have toyota engines and from what the lotus owners club have told me they are pretty damn good. Here are a couple of pics of a great looking Noble on pistonheads at the moment which is within budget. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/images/155977-1.jpg http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/images/155977-2.jpg Also heres a reminder of what the exgie looks like. I think you'll agree that in either white or black these cars look stunning. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/images/157628-1.jpg So if it was your money which would you go for.

hmmm a Porsche 996 would be a very nice car. Not sure what the servicing/running costs would be like though

heres an exige with the honda conversion
-
No I cant go back down the supra route. As much as I'd love a late vvti TT I need to try something else. Although I guess I could get a cheap supra as a daily driver and then something mega crazy like an ariel atom
-
Have considered a 350z and at one point I would have loved one but want something with supercar performance and something a bit more crazy to look at. Yeah I know an Exige has a slow top speed but the acceleration and handling make it a supercar beater. As for an engine conversion you can get a ivtec honda conversion which takes the power up to a maxiumum of around 240bhp and from I hear its a lighter engine than the standard toyota engine. 0-60 in the mid to late 3's plus a higher top end. As for my height I am 6ft 2 and talking to some of the guys on the midlands lotus owners club I should be fine in an exige. I think they might be taller cars than the elise as are designed for track use in mind which means extra room for the crash helmet.

Other cars I have considered are: BMW M3 - Great drivers car, massive power, reliable, can be used everyday. But looks a bit to boring and is a BMW. You know what people think of BMW drivers. Plus new replacement out soon which won't help depreciation Noble M12 - Would be at the very top end of the budget and am not sure I am keen on the looks. Plus is probably even more hardcore track focused than an exige and again would rule this out as a daily runner
-
Well living in London means realistically its a weekend car but I would like to think that the car could be used on a Daily basis if needed. Which probably rules out the TVR's
-
Yep your right maybe the bullet proof reliability should be a desirable factor but not an essential then. Although I have heard nothing but good things about the Exige's reliability and servicing costs are supposed to be pretty good. With excellent fuel economy too I think its a real contender.

Hi guys I recently sold my Supra and was genuinely gutted when I saw it drive around the corner and off in to the distance never to be seen again. I sold the car to move to London in the thought that I would not need a car down here. But after a couple of months down here I am starting to think about buying a new car. The criteria for my next purchase is simple. I am looking for a car with supercar performance for under £25k. Initially I wanted something big and fast with lots of road presence like the Supra but theres not a lot of cars that offer such great performance matched with great looks and bullet proof reliability. At the moment the current choice is a Lotus S2 Exige. Its got mini GT looks with Supercar beating track ability. Other cars I have been looking at are: TVR T350 - Its a more refined Trevor, but like all TVR's still likes to eat engines TVR Tuscan - Wild looks and performance, Wild service bills and build quality Jag XKR (old shape) - Great performance and looks great on the outside, looks like a pensioner on the inside Lotus Esprit V8 - Always wanted one as a kid, looks a bit dated now though Maserati 3200GT - Nice looking car with great engine, aparently there not too good to drive though I think thats all of the ones I have looked at, so what do you guys reckon would be a worthy replacement for a Supra? The car has now just had the cambelt change done by Thor Racing which included a belt change, tensioner pulley assembly, and new tensioner which came to £352 inc Vat.

Hi Guys I have just replaced my electric aerial on the car as I thought the motor had died. After fitting the new one I have had a go at fixing the old one and as a result the old one is 90% ok. The motor seems to work and it seems that the plastic drive cord has'nt snapped of lost any teeth. The only issue seems to be that the aerial wont retract all the way down. Anyway if someone is looking for one and fancies getting this working all I want is £20 to cover postage and packing. Cheers Trev

Hi Guys I recently started a post in the supras for sale section advertising my car with the heading 1997 na supra sale or trade and wanted to alter the title of the post but can't seem to do it. I have been into the edit section and then advanced and altered the title there. Now when reading the post it has the new heading at the top but in the initial page where all the posts are listed it still uses the old title. Anyone got any ideas. Cheers Trev

Hi Guys Been trying to do this today and got the plastic trim off and then unclipped the secondry surround (the bit of plastic with the letters on). However because of the massive autobox gear shifter the surround wont come off and i can just about see the bulb through the gap. So how can i get to the bulb? I tried loosening the four screws around that hold the main surround in place and noticed that there is a small connector that looks like it is connected to the bulb underneath. Which bit do i need to turn 1/4 turn anti clockwise the bulb of the connector/housing? Cheers Trev
