  1. Got back from the Bul this morning at 5.30.... into work at 8. But tell ya what....worth every penny, every f*cked up flight, every minute of the 2 and a half hour taxi into the ground (40km), every one of the 3 hot dog stands they had for 40,000 reds, every overpriced beer from the locals as Uefa deemed us too immature for ale, every inch of the last mile we walked into the ground past flocks of goats, as no traffic was moving, every Turk who came and wished us well, every one of the first heartwrenching 45 minutes and every heart attack for the rest. And every minute of the 3 hr drive back to the Bul packed into buses like sardines. Worth it??? You bet!! We won it 5 times, we won it 5 times In Istanbul, we won it 5 times * * * * * Yup. Im happy :spanish:
  2. Well, thats just great. Just got my new rears (Eagle F1s),and took it to the garage to have them fitted. Dropped the car off, and feller said about 45 mins. No probs, I'll just pop in for a pint. Came back 45 mins later and noticed the same rear tyres are still on. WTF is going on I asked? Have you got the key for the locking nots? Erm, If there not in the boot with the rest of the stuff, then ermmm no sorry. And to make it even better the guy doesnt have a set that will fit. And although he knows they're AVS he cant identify what ones they are and get the right tool. Bonus!!! Bottom line is they are gonna have to "get them off somehow" and replace them with other bolts. More expense....great!! Readers top tip....check EVERYTHING before you buy. Bugger!!!! Bloody tyres and fitting have cost me more than my weeks holiday to Turkey to watch the European Cup final!!!

    172mph!

Guys, maybe Im expecting a bit much here but....... My NA is pretty poor above 120 of them leptron thingees. If I have it in O/D off then it pops up to about 120 before red lining. But above that in top, the response is really poor. And I mean any acceleration is very very slow up to 140ish, if I can reach that before hitting other traffic. Is this normal? I had my 2.3i Prelude out at the weekend and was shocked to notice that it seemed far more responsive than my Soop. Mostly through all gears as well. Rattles a little about 120 upwards but the acceleration seemed better.

    Tasteless?

Couple of jokes I heard today. Not sur how PC the forum is but delete if you think too rude and sentence me to 50 lashes (please): Took my anorexic girlfrient to the park today. It was no picnic I can tell you. Hear bout the thalidomide porn star. He had an arm like a babies c**k Made me laff anyway
  5. If it plays mp3s which Im pretty sure it does, then just get a free mp3 editor. Rip your chosen song to mp3 and then just edit it to get the bit you want. File sizes can be reduced massively. I currently use the chorus from "Youll never Walk Alone" for friends calling and the chorus from "Lets get it started" for work calls from workmates. And its all free
  6. Damn, only just noticed this thread. Got all excited about turning up for a first meet with you guys. And its cancelled. Bugger!!!!!
  7. Thanks guys. Will be ordering up some F1s I think and will confirm that local garage will fit them for me. Cheers Billy
  8. Bobbeh, B'have, Thanks for the replies. They look good and mainly because the price is a lot lower than I was expecting. Next questions are: Is it worth keeping the original fronts as these are still in good nick? Or should I change all 4 at once. This will break my heart as the fronts are good, but can they be mixed? It will also break my wallet!! If I get them delivered would it be wise/ok to take them to a local garage/kwik fit for balancing alignment? Cheers Billy
  9. Hi guys and gals, I posted this in another thread earlier but didnt get a reply. I'm hoping its because the thread was an old one and not because its a bone question. Any advice is desperately needed and would be very much welcome Gonna have to replace my rears pretty damn soon, and was after some advice on what tyre to be looking out for, and also what prices to expect to pay. My cars an NA by the way. Currently I have the tyres from when I picked up the car, they are: Front: Yokohama 235/40ZR18 (DNA GP) Rear: Yokohama 265/35ZR18 93Y (AVS) What I'd like to know is are these any good and should I just get the same set again if I can. Or are there better ones. Tend to do mostly dual carriageway/Motorway driving and the usual 4 mile jaunts to work. Also, If I get them sent can I just take them to Kwik Fit or somewhere to have them fitted and balanced. What is the benefit of getting them aligned and where should I be looking to get that done. Im in Glasgow. Dont know if it makes any difference but I've got AVS alloys (dont ask me what type though). Any help appreciated.
  10. mummy balloon, Daddy ballon, and baby balloon all going to bed for the night. Anyway baby ballon gets to bed but he's freezin. So he thinks mum and dad are asleep so I'll sneak in with them. So he tries to squeeze in but its a bit tight. So he thinks " Ok I know what to do". He undoes his dads knot and lets a bit of air out. But its still to tight. So he opens his mums knot and lets some of her air out. He's almost in but not quite. So eventually he undoes his own knot and lets some air out. Toasty all night!! Whe he wakes up in the mornin his mum and dad call him down for a chat. "Look son, about last night, were very disappointed in you. In fact....not only have you let me down, youve let your mum down, and most of all you've let yourself down". I'll get me coat....
  11. I actually quite like that However there is no friggin way I'd manage to fit it. Are there any direct replacements you can get for a worn one anywhere. Or slightly better ones than my stock one, which is pretty worn. Also a handbrake as well,
  12. I downloaded it (legally ) a while ago. Quite good. Denzel Washington and the young girl in it are both very good. Much better movie than most of the genre and its quite a dark movie. Thoroughly recommend it.
  13. Guys, any advice for the above as I'm gonna be making the plunge next week and I still have no idea about wether to get the same again. Or wether the ones I've got are pants. Or even if I can put a mix of the front and rears. Cheers Billy
  14. Hi, just the thread I needed . Gonna have to replace my rears pretty damn soon, and was after some advice on what tyre to be looking out for, and also what prices to expect to pay. 15. My drivers side just doesnt seem to want to wipe away any rain at all above about 60mph. is it worth getting one with a spoiler on it? Or do these silicon ones come with one on.
  16. So for my Jap NA is normal unleaded OK? Is it just the turbos that need the Optimax?
  17. Well, got her back and things seem better than ever now. Deffo much better than it was when I got it originally, and better than after the first service. No charge and the guy was sound about it. BUT.....I head an EVO coming in and the exhaust was brill. Maybe a bit loud for my neighbours though. So now gonna look for a thread on getting rid of my stock exhaust. Gettin bloody expensive this Supra ownin malarky Edit: Got my eye on a nice reciprocating - thingymajiggy, but may have to wait till next month. Strange, searched on ebay and couldnt find one
  18. Guys, Just had the garage guy on. Apparantly it was a knackered fuel filter which they fitted last week. Replaced free of charge of course. Bit worried now though that they checked the car over prior to fitting this new one. Or maybe its just me being paranoid and it went over the weekend. Anyway, proof is in the pudding....excuse to go for a little run tonight. Had it up to indicated 140mph already, but what is the real world top end for the NA compared to indicated. My Prelude used to do an indicated 130 but would be pretty unstable....lets just say you knew you were going fast!! Thanks for the help btw.
  19. Seems to be a loss of power all round. took it back to garage at lunch today and tried a bit of throttle and seemed to take an age whereby it reached a speed and then just stayed there. Eventually it changed up into 3rd and speed increased. Not by much though. Also noticed that its guzzling fuel compared to the same journey i done last week. Garage gave it a quick check while I was there and mentioned something about two throttle controls? have left it with him for now and HOPEFULLY he will be able to sort by COP today. one last point is that on the service he said it was running lean, but that could have been due to the sparks being "totally white, and the gap was more than double what it should have been". All Greek to me. Worryingly so!!!!
  20. yeah mate. Was mostly just oils and stuff. Advanced Formula Motor Flush Toyota Oil Filter Valvoline 10W40 Maxlife Air Filter Toyota Fuel Filter Toyota NGK Spark plugs BKR5EP-11 (6 of) Service and inspect Thats it. Just spoke to the fellah and he said to bring it back in. All well and good but I cant get time off work today, and am off to Germany tomorrow. Bugger!!!
  21. Sorry, reposted this here as thought it more relevant Guys, some major help needed here. Had my car in for a service last week and guy changed most things. Garage was recommended from here. Only had a chance to push it a bit today and it was feeling a bit sluggish. However, Ive noticed that I cant get it above 5200rpm in 3rd or 4th gear. (NA Auto btw). Normally if I switch the Overdrive off I can rev the arse to redline in 3rd (indicated 125mph) before switching it back on as required. I even put it into manual and although I could get the revs up in 2nd even when I went to 3rd manually I couldnt get over 5200 rpm. I actually had a f****in Saxo pulling away from me at about 100mph. In the end I pulled over as if I couldnt be arsed, just to save face!! Anyone got any ideas? Garage was closed today but will be getting a call first thing tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm off to Germany first thing on Tues mornin so am a bit worried. Any help appreciated as per usual

  23. Hi Marky, there are a couple of threads about the rubber stops that have a tendency to split and make the boot hatch rattle a bit. I'm gonna get some from Envy. Apparantly its a bit of a bugger to get the screws out of the old ones. Nothing ventured.....which is about the limit of my mechanical expertise Billy
  24. Just a quick bit of advice needed after a service (had the car 2 weeks and done 1000 (fun) miles in it) Anyway put it in and on the invoice it says the following was done: 1. Advanced Formula Motor Flush 1. Oil Filter - Toyota 5.5 Valvoline 10W40 Maxlife 1. Air Filter - Toyota 1. Fuel Filter - Toyota 6. NGK Spark Plug - BKR5EP-11 2. Service and Inspect Vehicle The guys seemed to know there stuff and were very helpful and enthusiastic about my car. They also said the car was running very lean but that the changes made would sort that out. Apparantly, the sparks in there were white, and had more than twice the gap they should of had. Just a point to note, the person I bought it off had said that a full service had been carried out. However the oil filter and the air filter were in rag order. They also sorted out some rubbing on full lock by sorting out my front spoiler. All in all Im quite happy with what theyve done. But is there anything Ive missed here? Cheers Oh yeah, any ideas what to ask for for the rear hatch rubber things to stop the rattle? And from where. Envy?
