Jake, is this true, and does it apply to supermarkets. Just wondering because my mates car was scratched (presume a trolley) in one a couple of weeks ago. Obviously no-one around after it. He ended up getting the wing resprayed. But could he have claimed for the repair from the supermarket? He'll be gutted if he could have.

Chipmunk, What steering wheel is that mate? Matches the siver dash perfectly IMO. Does the horn still work with it? Billy

Well looks like soft lad has had his bluff called. Same contract that he turned down the other day. No changes. When push came to shove, the club proved they were bigger than your ego Stevie. Now a bit of humble pie eating, and we can all move on. Its been emotional!!! STEVEN GERRARD today insisted the speculation which has plagued the last two years of his Anfield career will end with today's contract signing. Gerrard will pen a four-year deal which, he revealed, will not contain any get-out clauses. The Liverpool skipper says he never wants the events of this summer and the last pre-season to be repeated and wants the world to know he is fully committed to one club. Explaining his decision to stay, an emotional Gerrard told the ECHO today: "The last five or six weeks were the hard-est of my life because I wrongly believed the club didn't want me. I don't want to get into attaching blame to anyone. "If I blame anyone, it's myself. I wanted my future sorted out as soon as possible after the Champions League final and when that wasn't the case, the longer it went on, the more misunderstandings there were. "There was confusion and doubt in my mind. I had discussions with the manager, but the reports of bust-ups are complete nonsense. Now I know how much the club wants me. "I feel I must defend my agent, Struan Marshall, in this. He's taken a lot of stick but all along he's never done anything I didn't ask him to. "He's well respected at Liverpool and has done deals for me and other players in the past. He's conducted himself in the right way. "He's a big factor in my decision to stay and organising the contract. "I'll be signing the deal, maybe even today. I'd also like it known there are no clauses in that contract. This won't be happening again next summer or ever again, so far as I'm concerned. "I've committed my long-term future to the club and I want all the speculation to end now. This is what I've wanted all along." Gerrard hopes the fans understand the conflicting pressures he's been under but accept why the crisis developed and now get behind him and the club. "I feel there is a weight off my mind today and I just want us to put this mess behind us," he said. "I've only one medal left to win at Liverpool and that's the Premiership. That's what I want more than anything and Liverpool is the only place I've ever wanted to win it. "I know there are some fans who'll be supportive and some who won't be. All I can say is it's been a difficult period for me, but I know I've made the right decision. "In my heart, this is my club. I want to help bring success here for them and, for their sake and my own, I never want to go through this again." Now pass that captains band to Carra mate

Goodbye Judas!! Dont let the door hit you on the way out. You could have been a F**kin legend, but you sold your soul to the bright lights and ill gained roubles. I hope you enjoy your exile, with the empty meaningless trophies that money will buy, because you sure as hell arent gonna be welcome back in Huyton lad, let alone L4. In a way i'm glad. The Stevie Gerrard FC show is over and were back to Liverpool FC. The media hype is gone now. £25 mill and Damien Duff will do nicely thank you very much. Or dosh and one or two from Real. Raffa has played a blinder on this with his thinly veiled comments about manager, coach and scout, revealing exactly how much Stevie started believing his own hype and trying to run the team. Thanks for the good times along the way.....but Tara lad. Ro, have a read of this thread... http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php/topic,74804.0.html

Keron, Really nice lookin car there. Whats the front bumper and skirts?
-
Tempted for one of these beauts Do they have to be fitted by Clifford guys for the insurance side of things though? Or can you take them to somewhere and have them fitted? And if so what sort of prices would we be lookin at. Don't really wanna buy one and find out its gonna cost a mint to have fitted. Billy

Hi, as Im about to be doing my Supe up a bit, I just wondered wether it would be worth having a thread/stickie whereby people could put up the average prices they paid for all thind Supra. I see a lot of "I paid this from so and so" in various threads. Obviously these are all relevant to various seperate threads but means a whole lot of searching about with not always the best results. I was thinking along the lines of a thread for all the basics and not so basics like: 1. Costs of various servicing 2. Various Parts, eg dash kits, interior stuff 3. Oils etc 4. Various types of engine/suspension mods 5. Resprays etc 6. Bodywork bits I realise that these things will always change but an average price could be figured from posters experiences. Maybe not actually endorsing individual companies,(people can pm to get specifics), but could also include fitting charges etc. Basically I thought of this as I'm intending to have a fair bit of work done to mine, but realise that I have no real baseline price to be looking around. Just an idea like.

Will go over 120 mate. But acceleration (od dissengaged) is good till there. Then with OD back on there is nothing in the way of acceleration. As my post says I couldnt tell if its been delimited or not, which is why I want to give the whole car a complete going over.
-
Only had it 3 months mate (and think I paid over the odds - wish I'd come on here before buying), so not gonna sell it. Not really interested in that much power, just expected a little bit of acceleration over 120 (112?). Ro, feel free mate...plenty more where that came from...we're gonna have to meet up for a match one day lad. No jester hats though :thumbdown

Its the 2.3i manual Ive got. Basic spec. but just seems to outdo my Supe in nearly all departments. (apart from looks)

Hi all, I bought my Supe a few months ago and have admitted on more than one occasion that I am not exactly mechanically minded when it comes to it. I bought it basically because I loved the look of them when I first saw them and made a promise to myself that I would someday own one. The problem is that now that I've had it for a while I've started noticing things that are annoying me about it. Some little things that are just niggly and some that are really getting on my nerves. These range from the annoying boot rattle (I've change one side of the rubber mounts but can get nowhere with the second), to what I perceive as a lack of performance of the car itself (it seems that my Prelude has more poke than my Supe), and finally after seeing some of the fine examples on this forum my cosmetics, both internal and external, could do with a major upgrade. I wish I could say I have more than one screwdriver to my collection but I can't. Also as I work away from home I have nowhere to work on the car (Im in a rented flat), and apart from cleaning would be lost anyway. Anyway, to the crux of the matter! I have a fair few bob that I am more than willing to spend to really get my Supe the way I want it. Ideally this would be money spent on the mechanical side of things first (complete check over of engine, determine why I have no acceleration to talk of above 120 leps, recommendations for improvements, suspension is rock hard at the moment and its actually embarassing with passengers when going over bumps as car is actually bouncing on bends, decent exhaust, brake upgrade etc). Basically a thorough inspection (not just a service) with recommendations on how to make the car run to its best for my normal work and motorway runs. Oh, and deffo a new exhaust. Cosmetically? I am looking at getting a new interior fit out. I may go for a new dash, and need a nice new handbrake and gear shift lever to replace the worn ones. I have seen one or two I like but am not 100% sure that they fit the Supe. Even with my limited ability I should be able to choose new mats though . I know my bodykit is not fitted very well and will need that sorted, although I may be tempted into new front end/sideskirts (with fogs etc fitted at the same time). A lot of paint is coming off the front bumper and makes the car look scruffy even when cleaned. The real problem for me is that as much as I want to get this done (and be at least involved slightly in it, whilst learning a bit as well) is that as I am up in Scotland there doesnt seem to be anywhere that I can find that can do this for me. The only place I have had recommended is The Garage who have done my service, (no problems there), but as far as work above that is concerned I've been told that they are really more into Evo's than Supes. Another guy suggested that a place where the guy "knows everything there is to know about Supes" but then said they would feel safer putting the car into The Garage. Does anyone know different? I'd quite happily buy brake pads etc if I could be shown how to fit the bloody things, and recognise when to change them etc. It may be that I have to leave the car somewhere for a while to get this done and I'm prepared to do this as long as I see some gains at the end of the day. I phoned and put this problem to a trader the other day and they said they would get back to me but havent. Which I found a bit strange as I would be spending some of my hard earned on this. Ive already had a stereo install that I am not 100% chuffed about from someone (not on here) and dont wanna be just bodging everything. I read the forums and see most of the traders down south and am more than a little jealous about having a "local" dependable trader to go to without having to book a week off. At the end of the day I just want to get my car running and looking as good as I can, but logistically its a nightmare. Midweeks are a no no as I dont get paid if I dont turn up for work. And driving down South every weekend is a no no due to other commitments. Any recommendations anyone can give would be appreciated as I love the Supe and dont want to let it become "just another car". Just a "this place and this can do it, now get off your arse" will do. Thanks Oh, by the way its a 94 NA I've got

Ro, just a quick note mate. Did you know you can get you pic taken with the cup, AND the legend that is Dalglish on Thursday. Part of his wifes charity. £10 for a piece of immortality.

Quite simple really. When the 4th place rule was "intimated" by Uefa as opposed to stated directly, it was with the direct intention that the holders would be allowed in at the expense of 4th place. This ultimately was a folly, as lets face it the FA are hardly competent in anything they deal with. The fact that this was the intention was borne out when Real Madrid won it and were finished 5th in La Liga. Zaragotta were dropped out automatically by the Spanish and Real Madrid were given TOP SEEDING and placed directly into the GROUP STAGES as HOLDERS. This was irrelevant to where they finished in the League. As they were holders they got top billing. The further point that backs up Uefas intention of the holders being entered is the sudden change of rule after this occurred. From now on the holders will qualify automatically for the group stages. (Ala Real Madrid). So it has taken LFCs win to get Uefa to admit the poor wording of the rule and make it decisive. At least thats a good result...no more ambiguity now. As for the FA? Well the FA have played a blinder. They have taken no decision apart from a self serving one to get more English teams into the CL, thereby increasing Englands points quotient. They passed the buck back to Uefa by stating that 4th place (irrelevant that its the Bluenoses) would go through regardless. However they would campaign for a 5th entry into the competition. They should have stated that if LFC won it then 4th place would drop to Uefa, as had been done before and was intended to be done. Or they could have said nothing and hoped we didnt win it. One last point on the FA. Their own website stated with regards to last year (Arsenal - Chelsea), that should neither qualify in 4th place but go on to win the competition then they would be entered automatically. That was published on their website and was pulled when it was brought to the medias attention. They since came out and stated thet it was a junior employee who had posted it and was "not our actual policy". Strange how it had been on the official website for 8 months. Anyway, I am not actually a bitter Liverpool fan as has been intimated, just a passionate one. I am glad to be in the CL and grateful that Uefa have found a way to let us defend our trophy, although I think they were under severe pressure from the sponsors to do so. I just feel the whole thing could have been done with a bit more forethought so this mess didnt happen. Mind you something to celebrate next year when we become the first team to retain it from the first round of the qualifiers.

Is this still going ahead for the people who want to attend? Even if its just everyone who stays up here? Anyone know/care. Its SUNNY!!!!
-
Glad to be in, but....... To put the holders in the first qualifying rounds. Disgraceful. I dont know how much people know about this whole sorry state of affairs but Uefa, and the FA in particular, have acted attrociously in this. Personally, I would have preferred to do the Uefa Cup and sod Uefa and the FA. Really messed up our pre season tours, and start the season a month earlier. may not even go to the away Euros if its in Azerberzhan or other dodgy place. And the rest of the qualifiers mean we'll be playing and travelling to loads of games, also to fit in around Uefas money w*nkfest of the Super Cup and World super Club Cup or whatever they call it this season. Ins in I suppose. But disappointed and angry. Annnnnddd relax.

Cheers guys, halfords it is for some 10W 50 Fully synthetic, which will see me over the weekend. Like I said I'll be trying to get it in for service next week so everything will be replaced then. As an aside, what are the savings on supplying your own oil, filters etc on a normal service. Just generally like.
-
thanks guys, the car is on level ground (even I'm not that daft....although I can understand you thinking that). Problem/worry I have is that as its only just registering on the dipstick, and Im doing about 300m tonight Im a bit worried about thrashing it down the Mways. I cant wait for stuff to be delivered as I'm away all weekend. I am booking it in for service next week, just worried about this weekend. So you dont recommend getting a top up with a 10W 50 that local Halfords will have until the service? Billy
-
Guys, am off away tonight and am stuck at work till I leave apart from 30 min for lunch. Problem is I've just done a quick check on the engine oil on my car and its only just on the dipstick. (been left for 2 hours). Problem is, I need to shoot away asap and cant remember what oil was in it. We have a Halfords nearby that I can dive into, but what oil should I be looking for, and is it OK to just mix and match as Im unsure what was in there before. Although it was changed on last service with recommended stuff. Any help really really appreciated. Cheers Billy PS. dont know how its run down so much either but no sign of leaks.

Wow, that looks cool mate!! Great stuff. Any decent recommendations for places round about Glasgow area for all types of work. Am thinking about getting my bodywork sorted, and the interior. As well as any good servicing places. Been to The Garage and was OK but looking for other options as well. PM if you dont fancy postying for all Cheers

Cheers guys, guess a trawl through all her posts is in order. Been following the saga for a while and really want to see it progressing. looked class like. Cheers again
