  1. Very interesting. I was just out checking my levels over lunch and I have no, none, nil, nada stuff in my coolant resevoir. I've opened the radiator cap and it seems full. The hose checks out OK. Any idea where I go from here? I actually thought I've noticed a burning smell over the last few days...but I could just be imagining that.
  2. Where do you guys get your Supes serviced up there. I spend a lot of my weekends with family in Arbroath and would like to get mine serviced round there. Not impressed with whats on offer around Glasgow service wise.
  3. Thanks for the help guys. I've just ordered two "budget" tyres for 234 nicker which my bird is well chuffed about...NOT!!! Still cant get them fitted till Thursday so am now on the scrounge for alift home, and into work for the next couple of days. Bloody Goodyear. Bloody Nails. Bloody Supras.
  4. Thats the impression I have. And thats what the suppliers seem to say. From the spreadshhet at the link above. 518644 265/35R18 97Y XL EAG F1 (ASYMMETRIC) FP EAGF1AS 03/01/2007
  5. thanks for the tips guys, but the search continues. Hawleys dont have any in and wont send to Glasgow anyway. Mytyres have them, but will take 4 days to send out. Bugger Blackcircles will do: Falken GRB FK 452 (Extra Load) 265/35 R18 Y £140.81 fully fitted or the remarkably cheap Fullrun HP 199 265/35 R18 W £87.54 fully fitted. Not being a speed merchant, my bird thinks the cheaper ones will be sound....however I'm not so sure for those odd flashes that I get when she's not there. Also Bestbuy tyres are showing: 265/35R18 97Y GYR EAGLE F1 GS-D3 MASERATI REAR XL at £190. they are busy at the mo but does the Maserati sh*te mean anything? Cheers
  6. Thanks mate. just for the future, any idea when the Asymetric replacements are going to be available? No one seems to have them yet, but have got rid of all the ones they're replacing. Gutted at having to get rid of a perfectly good F1 with loads of tread on it. However, looks like I'm gonna be looking around for someone who can fit a set of something or others TODAY as I need the car. Having a look around for a decentish cheaper option, but the priority is to get someone to just come in to work and fit them for me really. Preferably ASAP.
  7. Hi, Have just got a puncture in my 265/35ZR18 97Y rear Eagle F1 tyre and cant find a replacement anywhere. I usually use blackcircles but they say its being phased out and they have no stock at all, and neither do any of their suppliers. Short of buying 2 new rears as they both have a lot of tread on them is it OK to mix with another type? I know you shouldnt mix and match but how bad would it be if I just bought a single other brand tyre? Or should I just write off this option altogether. Financially I'd much prefer not to have to but 2 new rears obviously. I've managed to get the car into work and tried pumping it up with one of them car lighter pumps, but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas where I could source a single from that could be done today? I'm in the Glasgow/Hamilton area and have tried Kwik fit etc to no avail. Even tried a mobile fitter who haven't bothered to get back to me after telling them what I need. Any help appreciated Cheers Billy Oh, and I'm really not sure about puting the spare 15" one on as apparantly there are spacers on for the 18's so have no idea how this would affect things. Also the cars better off at work for any replacement during the day.
  8. A mobile Chris Wilson - now we're talkin. I'll even let you have first shout. No need to thank me.
  9. Ok. I'm in Uddingston Geo is in Kilwinning Jive is in Hampshire Andy T is in Hampshire I wish Chris W was in Uddingston.
  10. Obiously not checked your Paypal accout yet then
  11. The car was serviced at The Garage at Christmas and hasn't really done too much mileage since. In an ideal world I'd like someone to take ownership of it and just come back and say "we'll I recommend that you need to do this and that, then later on you may ned to do x and y". What I dont want is droping my car off and then someone looking at it for whats best for them. and a couple of days later things seem back to normal. Sorry, I didnt know about the meet, I really would have liked to attend. I really need to have a check out of other Supes to see if mine is performing poorly. I've sent you PM mate.
  12. Ssshhh!!! She reads this site
  13. Good point, well presented I'm just outside Glasgow. I know The Garage but want to try somewhere else.
  14. I've just been able to get a grand to spend an my 94 NA and am in a bit of a quandry as to what to do. I've go a few things I need to have done to the car. The front bumper is cracked/scratched, and there's a quite a large stone chip in the bonnet. But the main problem is that I think the car needs work on the mechanical side of things, but my very poor mechanical knowledge means I haven't really got a clue. I'm pretty sure the cars not performing as well as it used to. And there's justa feelingthat i get every now and then that things arent right with it. I also think the suspensions very hard and clunky and just "doesn't feel right". I guess I'm after some good advice at to who I could drop the car off to and know that they would have a THOROUGH inspection of it, and come up with the best way to get it running optimally, for the money I have. I know a grands not exactly a lot to be spending on the car, but I'd rather have it spent on things that NEED doing to impove its running than just on the cosmetics. Any advice appreciated. Ta. Billy
  15. Well, its certainly put my mind at rest that its not a fault. However, it seems kinda weird that the car would be designed pretty much sleek in all other areas, except for these bits. And its actually bugging the hell out of me now that I look for it everytime I go to get in the car. From the front it just looks like the doors haven't been fitted properly, even though its not part of the door system. Really really getting on my nerves now.
  16. I'm not. I just meant i'mcertain it hasn't had any since it came over here. I’m pretty sure that the gap would have caught my eye when I picked the car up, so I’m tending to think it was pretty much blended in when I got it. Thanks Ewen. The windows on both sides seal perfectly and there’s certainly no rain coming in. Its actually a gap after the seal towards the centre of the roof. I’ve tried pushing but its totally solid, and the guy at the garage seems to think there’s some sort of seal missing, but he has no idea why the gap would be there. I can understand the fitting of wind deflectors would mean some sort of change to the seals, but when/if removed, surely the car should be able to go back to looking streamlined. Would any better pictures of the problem help?
  17. Im pretty sure the wind deflectors have never been fitted (well i'm positive since it was imported). And I cant believe I'd be daft enough not to notice this in two years with the Supe. The only problem is that I cant be sure when it actually happened.
  18. I've got a problem with the door seals around BOTH doors. There appears to be a gap just behind where the window meets the seal. I've attached a picture but its not very clear so will try and get a decent one tonight. i had a word at a local garage (non Supe) and he reckons that a seal has been pulled ou. Personally i can't see someone nicking a seal from each door though. Ive tried to try and shove it back incase it had come away from clips or something but its solid. Any ideas
  19. There's no examples of a a decent bill of sale on there unfortunately. Well, not one that I can find anyway.
  20. Well, with my partner now being 6 and a half months gone it really is time to be thinking about getting rid of the car for a more family orientated one. So, we're selling her Hyundai Coupe Its gonna be a private sale so was just wondering if anyone could give any advice on what to put on a bill of sale that I could write up. There's nothing wrong at all with the car, but I just don't want to leave myself open for any bellend claims afterwards. Cheers for any help Billy
  21. Thanks a lot Chris. I will put enough in to get the level sort of midway between the max and min which should see me through the immediate panic hopefully. I've no idea if the pads are worn low, (no idea how to check really), but will get it into the garage after Chrimbo when things are a little less hectic. thanks again Billy
  22. My brake fluid is very low and I cant get it into a garage and am off on a lcouple of long runs over the Xmas period. I have absolutely no idea what is in there at the moment but was filling up my birds car with petrol earlier and saw and picked up some Esso dot 4 (it was a spur of the moment buy). Is it OK just to put this straight into the brake fluid container direct? I deffo can't get to a garage to have it done properly, and the warning light is coming on loads now. Thanks for any help. Edit: Sorry, I have a NA by the way.
  23. Cheers guys, just had a look at it over my work break, but cant see anyway of getting into it under the front bumper. I've now got it booked in for a service for tomorrow so will let them deal with it I think. Safer than me hacking around I think. Also just noticed that the seals above my windows dont go flush with the car, on both sides. Quite a gap and you can actually see what looks like retaining clips through the gap...only they're not retaining anything. I've certainly never noticed this before, and its identical on both sides. Weired!!
  24. Hi, I tried to pop my bonnet this morning but the release from inside the car is having no effect whatsoever. Is there anything else I can try? I cant see anything where the bonnet meets at the front and am wondering if theres an easy way. I've done a search and realise there's a cable, but have no idea how to find it. Cheers
  25. Cheers for that Martin. West Calders not much of a problem to get too. Apart from a full service, there's a few niggling problems I'd like sorting out where maybe a one to one discussion would be good. Has anyone had their car done by TRDs dad? I've had a look to PM TRD but when I do a search there's about 20 of them so unsure what one to pick. Cheers
