  1. The whole lot comes out together fully assembled. You will have to take the bumper, bonnet, Front mount intercooler off and depending on the hoist you have maybe the front cradle that the lights bolts to. This will give you more room to push the hoist all the way in.
  2. In side the car, unplug the ecu and there are a couple of other plugs also. Undo the 2 bolts that hold the rubber gromet on the bulkhead and pull the engine loom out from inside the car into the engine bay.
  3. I've never jacked the back of the car up or removed the shifter cradle lol....... You can get the engine out with the car on the ground after you have removed everthing, but it help to jack the front a little. Leave all the loom on the engine, you can take the ps pump and ac cond off so you don't need to regas ect or if your not bothered leave them on.
  4. Ah ok, you can make a locking tool for the ATI or buy one from them. The problem is all the force of you tightening the bolt Is going down the drive train. Bleed the line to see if it makes a difference but it should go in without the clutch . I would take the shifter cover off and have a look. Tbh you need to get it running really, then you can see what the clutch is doing.
  5. You only need to worry about the clutch pedal adjustment once the car us running. You have to be careful how far you adjust it as you could kill the thrust washers in the block. Make sure there is free play in the top of the pedal and never start the car with the clutch down.
  6. You should lock the crank pully to torque the bolt really. Have you got the car running yet? Check the shifter to make sure it's in correctly. If the engine is off it should go into all the gears with the clutch up anyway but when you get it running see what it's like then. If it is the clutch it will give you a problem with other gears as well if it's not it will be the box itself. Have you had it apart at all?
  7. Cheers Paul will do, the aeromotives are quite big. Be interesting to see the difference.
  8. That squashed blue smurf is a piece of intercooler silicone hose. It has the wrong pump fitted so doesnt quite fit right, to get around this they packed it out with this. The rubber has started to perish and there was lots of pieces in the bottom of the tank for me to pick out. Lovely
  9. Those instructions are for the earlier version of the maniofold Rob, most of it is the same but there is a difference in the way it bolts to the runners. Give me a bell before you do it and I can explain it to you.
  10. If you are running the pipe to a catch tank just cap off the pipe on the plenum or put a blank in it. Its not needed so dont worry about it. That will be the least of your worries.
  11. I wish I could to be honest. I have a good fabricator and a good polisher.
  12. Exactly and as Chris said it's hard on the engine but if it survives that which it should it will be fine on the road.
  13. I completely agree with Chris on the mapping. The problem is a lot of cars mapped on rolling roads do not see the correct loading or a long enough run. They are often run in the wrong gear (4th instead of 5th) because the dyno can't cope with it. My car survived all it's runs at thunder road no probs but was mapped up to 5th gear with long dyno pulls at TDI. I think this is a big factor. The TDI dyno recreates real loading unlike others.

The standard setup should handle more than that, you may have a weak point in the system. Have a look at that first before trying to add things. You can fit the HKS dli to it no problem though, HKS make a harness that plugs straight in. The part number is: 4399-ST001
  15. Hi Tony, yes I can. Price is £275.00 + del
  16. Probably not I'm affraid, quite alot of money and not enough people want then Chris Wilson does a nice one but again needs a few people that want them.

Have you tried a new set of coil packs? If your running on the original ones chances are it's them.
  18. It could still be the ignitor pack as it could be causing a weak spark.
  19. Not yet I'm affraid will be a while.
