It can run inertia and it also has an Eddy current on each roller as well

We do actually have a lot of stuff to put in them but it was more choosing how far along the wall we wanted it to all go and filling the space. I wanted it all to be around the same length as the dyno to fill the space and have a big work top.

Well the dyno was only in for a couple of days when I had a phone call from a friend asking for help. Lee from Devil Developments had a couple of cars booked in on a hub dyno but wouldn’t fit as no hub adapters to bolt it on. They needed them mapped as were booked in to go on track testing two days later. Even though the room wasn’t finished I wanted to help and couldn’t turn down an offer to get some very rare and cool cars on the dyno. The first one a 1986 formula one car [emoji41]

Yeah 424x LC2 Didn’t want a hub dyno, wanted a roller. Had to be something we knew could deal with the speed and torque of the cars we work with though.

The guys from Dyno Jet UK came to install the dyno, one task I thought was going to be very hard thankfully went smoothly, getting the very heavy parts in the hole. We used a small telehandler that just fitted in the building to get the parts into the pit. The guys then worked their magic and got it all fitted and tested.

Unpacking the big boxes was fun, everything was heavy lol... Lots of wood, very well packed. Was exciting to finally see the dyno, next challenge would be getting it in the pit.

Delivery day was a tuff one. Very exciting because we have our new dyno but not an easy task dealing with the boxes. The largest box weighed 3 tonne and the weight distribution was uneven. We also have no access for large lorries, So the delivery went to our neighbours just down the lane. We then had to drive them up in the back of a tipper truck, unload with a telehandler and get them into the Unit. After a few hours and some scary moments we finally got it all in there.

Extraction [emoji16] Four large fans upstairs to pull air out the room and a very large pipe and silencer to send it out the roof.
