  1. That's fine for runner 6, hottest place so best place for the sensor to be mounted
  2. Your right they are not the clearest but it does show what needs to be done
  3. My point was you need to trim it as it shows in the instructions so you not doing anything wrong You can easily work out how much needs to come off by offering it up. Unfortunately once it is cut its not very solid anymore which is why usually it is left off or a custom one is made.
  4. You have to trim it as it says in the instructions or leave if off This is the same when fitting any FMIC We are working on an alloy one that will replace the stock one but it's not finished yet.
  5. Thanks guys really appriciate the comments, been a lot of here work but well worth it Traction is great tbh and the Trac control helps out.
  6. Need to do a side by side before and after pic of the bay really Has changed quite abit lol..,
  7. Some final engine bay shots, we refitted the strut brace A nice finishing touch was the chassis plate we had made. Now giving accurate details of the cars spec John collected the car today so hopefully will give his thoughts on how it drives on the new setup I can honestly say its one of the nicest setups I have ever driven The flappy paddle and full auto control with a built gearbox is just awesome
  8. Car has also been dynoed this week with Ryan so is running awesome John was never chasing numbers and wanted to keep the 61mm PHR turbo as the spool is very quick These turbos typically do 550hp but as we have a lot of extra mods like the engine work, hypertune ect we knew it may do a bit more Very happy with the results 600hp and 512ftlbs on pump fuel 635hp and 560ftlbs on ethanol As you can see from the graph boost drops off at the top end as the engine is so efficient and the turbo is small Spool is awesome though and a great power band Most of the time John will be using it in 1 bar mode which gives very smooth power delivery
  9. Yeah I know, one of the first mods they do when upgrading the clutch is bypass the clutch switch
  10. To go with our new gearstick mod we needed a gaitor made. Our trimmer did a great job with this considering how hard it is with the long movement John also wanted a coupe of other bits done. They made a new handbrake gaitor in black and retrimmed the top of the seats to remove the supra logo
  11. Mmm shouldnt be that bad then, maybe the lack of oil pressure has caused some issues. You should never start a supra with the clutch down though so find out if that's been happening.
  12. What clutch you running As James says, looks like it's been started with the clutch down and maybe not enough free play in the top of the peddle
  13. If the oil pump is all scored then pull it all apart and thoroughly clean and check everything
  14. cam covers are first place to look, remove the baffles and see if there is any dirt or debris Anything that's been powder coated, painted or polished needs checking and cleaning If The cam covers are bad you may have to throw the baffle plates and use different ones. You need to fully strip the engine and inspect everything It may have damaged other things as well
  15. Check the relief valve first, if that's ok then You need to take the oil pump off, open it up and inspect the rotors for scoring
  16. These are all signs of a knackered oil pump due to contamination As James says check for swarf in the oil or filter. Have you had any engine parts shot blasted and powder coated?
  17. Stock cams? As I said stock gasket is fine. Be interesting to know what has been taken off the head and the block though Stock gasket is 1.4mm
  18. You need the figures that come with the cams and adjustable pulleys. The 2j is fairly forgiving when it comes to timing and a few degrees either way can be hardly noticeable This does depend massively on spec though so depends what bits your running
  19. Just use the stock gasket, should never need to use anything else, a bit of pop up on the Pistons is fine If your worried about cr just take all the measurements and work it out. Cams should be dialed in correctly anyway if you can
  20. We always you the 1.00AR divided on pretty much all the precision turbos
  21. They do move but sometimes they are tight, be careful you don't crush it while trying
  22. Thanks guys, appreciate the comments The blue hoses were John's choice as he had blue pulleys as well and wanted to keep blue in the bay. Makes a change as we always use black now.
  23. Finished engine bay pics Really happy with how it's come out. It's had its first drive and engine is being run in.
  24. Few pics from inside SRD Flappy paddle kit Alpine DD sat nav unit Toucan display
