  1. Yes of course full auto mode Manual mode and a sport mode. As said this is just purely a base calibration just to get the car driving but think it's more the Rev counter.
  2. Not worked it out yet as some parts are prototype but once it's finalised will post full details
  3. We chose to put a 6 speed diff in this as its closer to the ISF ratio The ISF ratio is 2.94 Auto diff is 3.769 6 speed is 3.266 The ISF owners talk about changing to a 3.266 as they feel that the higher gears are just for cruising so that ratio should suit pretty well. Will give great acceleration but as you say cruising on the motor way will be good fuel economy as rpm will be low. I have a chart of the speed per gear on the ISF, will post it in a sec
  4. It's a bumpy county lane just at the bottom of our driveway
  5. First drive with the 8 speed conversion Just on Ryan's base calibration at the moment but still drives really good. Full mapping is next week then we can really test it. Tim at JT has updated the toucan firmware so we can now display the 8 gears.
  6. If your keeping stock size discs I would stay with the UK spec
  7. http://www.hurst-shifters.com/pdf/1595000.pdf It's got one in and 3 out Just y peice it going in
  8. You don't need to do that, the hurst has 2 in or out ports you just need to split it one side. Have you not got the instructions for it
  9. As already said you are supposed to measure then hone them to fit
  10. By the time you factor in other parts probably more but with most 6 speed conversions running power you also need a decent clutch as well. This is where it will even out and I expect it to be around the same or cheaper Will know once we produce the final versions of the mount and prop
  11. Just like the stock supra auto it has a fairly conservative torque rating, the supra box we have reliably run 550ftlb 600hp for some time The 8 speed is rated higher so we expect it will take a fair bit more As with all auto boxes, heat is the key so coolers are a must Will have to see at what point it becomes an issue but I'm
  12. Yeah I haven't checked the price new I dread to think lol... I have two other boxes to hand so will see what the interest is like first. The boxes I have will be around £2000
  13. So final fitted pics, we modified the stock selector arm and that works great. Only needs to go from park to drive as the rest is done on the paddles Front part of the prop modified so this will be a simple exchange part and rear section stays stock. Fits really great in there.
  14. Next fun job for me was wiring We got the plugs and a length of wire with the gearbox which was handy It only has two plugs, one control plug and the gear selector switch The wiring came with the plastic mouldings to bolt the loom to the box which made it a really nice OEM finish Ryan helped me out with a pin out for the control plug to S6 plus I then did some digging and worked out the selector plug.
  15. Another pic of the box before it went in and a nice cutaway pic so you can see the workings We made a spacer to support and locate the torque converter, this will possible be part of the flywheel in future. Gearbox in position, we made a custom mount which will be CNC machined in future.
  16. Not completely, just a modified front section.
  17. The plate and flywheel in position Here is the box, we took off a couple of bits off the side which were just to bolt the loom on. Also one of the mounting holes which was for the Lexus starter as it stuck out a long way and wasn't needed Other than that it fits surprising well in the tunnel No mods to the car needed at all
  18. Not sure what it will take yet but will find out Ryan has pushed the 6 speed quite far already.
  19. I would still want confirmation that this gauge is reading accurately first but if you can check what it's doing when over 80degrees Maybe pull a log off after a run
  20. Yeah the 8 speed is a quick change so once setup should be very good First thing to get sorted was the adapter plate and flywheel The starter motor is opposite side on the Lexus so the adapter plate helps sort this out while allowing the box to bolt up The billet flywheel, (which is a work of art) bolts up to the crank and is spaced to meet the torque converter We are using the Lexus TC, it's noticeabley larger than the supra one.
  21. It's higher than I would normally see when the car is up to temp but cold they will be that high
  22. Haha... Getting there First thing was to pick a gearbox, we wanted to stay close to home and use something in the Toyota family After some discussions with Ryan and my own experience with Lexus cars, we opted for the ISF 8 speed gearbox. Between us we already had some experience with earlier 5 and 6 speed versions of the gearbox and the latest 8 speed looked to perform very well and not be too much bigger. Infact it's the lightest gearbox In its class and relatively small for what it contains.
  23. Haven't updated this for a while but car has gone through some exciting changes now. We always felt this was a great car and setup but the one thing that let it down was the stock auto gearbox This was the first car to get the Syvecs full auto control and SRD flappy paddle conversion which have worked great. James has been very happy with it but we always wanted to do something with the gearbox. Instead of the usual built stock gearbox we discussed something different. So for the last year we have planning and working on a modern replacement auto gearbox for this car. It is now running on the latest S6 plus which is a superb ecu and gives us a lot more outputs to control a box with more gears.
