  1. Yeah need to be carefull with those BL boxes they are a bit fragile
  2. I think the santa pod clip shows it pretty well, Colin's is spinning in the first 4 gears so I cross the line first. If Colin had the grip he would have been quicker. I am sure we can arrange something though in the interest of science
  3. Let me borrow your gearbox and we will see
  4. Of course not, its just really difficault to show in the graphs what the car is actually doing on the road. Being lucky enough to have driven both cars we can give our descriptions of how they drive and perform but showing it on paper is hard. I will have to take you for a spin Ian so you can see what we mean.
  5. Thanks for the effort of puting the graphs together Ian
  6. The problem is that my graph does not give an accurate representaion of when the boost actually come in because on the road it is 5000rpm. Colin can varify this as he has driven it. Ignore the late power, it still shows a more progressive power delivery. Trust me both cars drive completely differently and having experienced both, the point was that my car was more drivable as it wasnt spinning the wheels in the first 4 gears like the do luck car. Even though they are just as quick as each other as proven on the track at Santapod. Colins is much more fun though.
  7. Would be good to compare the torque cuves if possible.
  8. This is the best example I can give you. The top graph is a single turbo which gives you a sudden spike in power. The second graph is a HKS Twin kit which is much more gradule (linear), hence the better traction. I know the graphs are scaled differently but it still shows the difference. I have added my graph to the bottom as it has a torque curve and shows the smoother power delivery better.
  9. Well here is a video of me and Chingy at , my car does quite well considering the turbos apparently dont really "come on song" in first or second gear
  10. Not exactly, the turbos start producing boost very low down the rev range but take longer to reach max boost pressure. With a single turbo the boost is acheived quicker so the power comes in alot harder which gives you the neck snapping feeling. Its all about power delivery and the twins are smoother and more linear in the way they come on boost. A very large single turbo will be laggy but all the boost will still come in at once. Sorry I am not quite as good at putting things into words as you guys but I am trying.
  11. Great job Jay, nicely done mate
  12. Oh dear, you have never been in a car with big twins have you. The power band is much more linear than a single. My car at 700hp only spins the wheels a tiny bit in first and second then grips solid in every gear after that. No wheels spin at all in a straight line. I can also hold the power on nicely in corners with the throttle, without the back end stepping. With a stroked engine the twins make an awsome track car, as already proven in Japan. No point in having loads of power if you cant get it to the road, this is where the twins are good.
  13. The off the shelf HKS twin setup will produce 800+ hp The larger HKS GT3240 twins will produce 1000+ hp
  14. The new billet wheel turbos do seem to be getting good reviews but I wouldnt say the HKS twins are old turbos at all. They are BB units and considering they only have 3 runners feeding each turbo spool fairly well. I have seen info that might suggest they are DBB and going by how long they spin after shut down that may be true. The advantage of twins over single is traction but as others have said they are very expensive and hard to maintain so the single route is normaly the way to go.
  15. Thats not the same car.
  16. If you look at the pic of the intercooler you can also see the two feeds into it for both turbos.
  17. Yeah, thats what it looks like to me. Looks great, alot of work gone into that. Well done.
  18. We got bored and left about 1.30, wasnt much to see.
  19. Leaving about 11.30, then meeting at Colin's.
