  1. It would take an air conditioning unit the size of a small truck to cool the volumes of air that an engine takes in.....The weight there for would negate the gains Go faster bullet holes in the body work (Simpsons style) - now thats a street cred mod. Neil.
  2. Ermmm.... So the jammer (LRC100) will jam for upto 5 seconds so that plod cant get a reading. Under normal circumstances it takes only half a second for him to point and zap you to get your speed. Will he not realise something is therefore wrong and that most probably you have a jammer installed resulting in him flagging you down anyway for a vehicle inspection ?? cheers Neil.
  3. you have a good buy there - nice one !!! The alarm fitted as standard to UK spec is indeed a CAT 1. Not sure on a 93 spec but on later models it is designated as the "5000" series. cheers Neil.
  4. Ash , yours a J spec ? They often do coz the cats helped control boost creep due to a smaller wastegate. I've never heard of a UK spec getting above 12psi even with exhaust and down pipes unless a boost controller is fitted. cheers Neil.
  5. 1) belt a bit loose - tighten / replace it. 2) Valve stem oil seals seeping a little oil over night - nothing to worry about - all cars do this to greater/lesser degree 3) standard moisure vapour in exhaust - perfectly normal Nothing to panic about at all Cheers Neil.
  6. Checked all pipes. All in good order. Didnt know HKS Super Draggers used baffles???? Ah well, maybe as I said the engine is finally run in :p Cheers Neil.
  7. Welcome UK specs have a larger capacity wastegate which prevents the boost creep associated with J-specs when both cats are removed. As for who knows about them....then Chris Wilson (who will be along anyminute) knows all about them and indeed can supply you with some rather good ones. cheers Neil.
  8. mmmm wondered that, but I've driven it plenty of times (over 2 years!) in just as cold weather and it never went above 0.8 kg/cm2 before cheers Neil.
  9. Guys, Over the past two years when ever I switched my AVCR off (when the g/f is driving!) the most boost the car would make was 0.8kg/cm2. That was just with CW pipes and a Super Drager. Over the past few days however, I noticed that it's producing 1.01 kg/cm2 with it switched off. any ideas? Actuator pipe split ? Engine finally "run in" loosend up after 105,000 miles? oh btw can anyone remember the converison factor for kg/cm2 to PSI ?? cheers Neil
  10. Battery in mine is shafted. If I leave the car any longer than 3 or 4 days without running it is flat. Have had to jump start many times - no problems( touch wood) with ECU or AVCR or Alarm etc etc. AS nathan said I cant see how you are blowing electronics unless there is no fuse in line. Ie it is hard wired to the battery instead of going via the spare accessory fuses in the fuse block. Even then I always fit an inline fuse. Cheers Neil
  11. Way too many variables for which you dont give answers to be able to say how much extra power. Sorting the fueling ? how ? by what ? J spec or UK spec ? what are the the flow capacity and efficency dynamics of your hybrids? Stock set up except for the hybrids?? then you will hit 11 psi and then no more....I assume therefore your have a fuel cut defense installed ? what state are the pistons/block other mechanicals in? I would be more interested in torque. As a guide line, for my UK spec, I notice only a little difference between putting it from 1.2 bar to 1.4. Which imho is too high without additional cooling. I notice no difference at all between 1.3 and 1.4 bar suggesting that I have exceeded the efficiency curve of my turbos. cheers Neil
  12. Until they crash head on into you coz they cant't see where they are going after you blinded them ! cheers Neil.
  13. Chris wilson did a detailed description about 6 months ago about why dump to atmosphere BOV's (ie the ones that go woooosh) should not be used on UK spec supras. Tried looking for it but cant find it. But yes, it makes the mixture lean. Basically, air gets measured and the corresponding amount of fuel therfore added at the injectors. However, between the measurement of the air and the fuel being added, the bov hasdumped some of the air to atmosphere causing the mixture in the combustion to be mad rich. The ecu then senses this and drastically cuts the injector cycle just as the bov has closed and huge amounts of air are coming back in to the cyclinders...hnce mega lean mixture for a small period of time until the ecu senses and compensates. Assuming you havnt backed off the throttle again and so the cycle repeats. chris do you still have it ? Jast as for the "seems slow bit" thats just because you getting used to it. Time for you to do some proper power mods now not these boy racer mods. cheers Neil.
  14. Errrrr.... why ? nothing illegal afoot I trust ? don't want that kinda of thing in Supra community cheers Neil
  15. or dodgy garage can charge you a fortune saying they have fitted them and really they have done naff all Cheers Neil.
