    trade plates

going to pick up a car tomorrow, but it has no tax & no mot, the seller said he will give me his trade plate number to drive the car back down to London to get taxed/mot'd - he said it is then perfectly legal to drive...... is this correct? cheers.....
  5. it is tiptronic/auto though, and not manual like the uk? hmm decisions decisions? i was also gonna get a full respay for the uk at some point cos i dont like the silver so bringing the cost up a couple of grand.... so i suppose im saving even more money as the VVTI is a quality colour anyway????? arrrghhh
  6. 48k thoguh m8......... and stock a rarity, im sure it will fetch at least £13k, no?
  7. why? expalin yourself young man or go an sit in the corner and face the wall no serioulsy, why'd you say that?
  8. right situation....... i have a 1995 UK spec TT manual, 48k miles, ftsh, absolutly stock an absolutly minted. (silver) im looking at a 1997 TT tiptronic VVTI. 70K, 'looks' mint, completly stock. (gunmetal) im thinking of swopping cars as it will free up quite a bit of cash, and i can start doing some light mods. VVTI is going for £8000 and im sure i can get £13/14k for the UK, im in a situation were i dont want to do anything to the UK spec as it is becoming quite a collectors item, and dont want to muck with it changing it from its standard form. insurance works out more or less the same.......... so i suppose what im asking......... do i, stick with the rare saught after low miileage UK spec manual or buy the VVTI and personalise it a bit

    uk spec supra

you'll have a very hard job trying to find a UK manual for 8-9k unless it highish mileage, there very saught after and there were only a couple of hundred made if that, as been mentioned earlier dont rule out the auto my last suup was an auto and i must admit it was luvly to drive and no shortage of fun with the right foot:d on the insurance side of things go onto elephant and just change your origional quote to add you mum as a 2nd named driver under you and watch the £££'s come down! :d it works give it a try!, i saved nearly £400 just doing my insurance like this, goes without saying i never let her drive it thoguh:tongue:
