  1. Hi Terminator , your profile doesn't show an email addy & I got no response by PM ..... can you sort me out with a file for an j-spec auto with standard tyre sizes on 17" rims please???. Thanks , Myles
  2. I'll try & stop by ...busy changing nappies & such these days though
  3. One of them in Crayford refused to wash my Patrol , B*****D ... "too busy boss!" , yeah right ...last time I'll tip him , I'll save my coppers for throwing at the ducks in the pond .
  4. erm, no .... that bit was a joke (& not a very good one at that)... You're more than welcome to my good one when I take it off , but since (in my limited experience) changing shocks is normally a dirty , knuckle bashing exercise , you don't want to have to change them twice (unless masochism is your thang) . ....& your supposed to change them in pairs .
  5. Justin , my right shock is leaky & due to be changed soon ...I can let you have the left one as I'll probably change them all .... :littled: Seriously though , DP Motorsports do Bilsteins for about £460 + delivery for full set ... I'm supposed to be buying Justin Fodens oem Bilsteins , but am having to wait for them .... Andrew at DP says he can do next day delivery . Do we get a discount from DP ? anyone? edit: BTW why do you think you'll need springs?
  6. I used Sanspeed a few times with my last car (corolla), but I did the work myself & just used them for the rollers as they're local to me & quite cheap (about £35 for a `power run' IIRC) . Let us know what you decide & how you get on . Myles
  7. Escrot ....dude , you said scrot . (Q Beavis & Butthead) hehehehehehe! heheeehe!
  8. Thanks Darren .... judging from that , I'd guess that 0.79hkPa =0.79bar ....close enough to 0.8bar for a standard car???
  9. Can anyone tell me how much boost one hkPa is? It's the unit of measurement for boost used on the Blitz DTT ... I show 0.79 hkPa whatever that is . Myles
  10. I just used 5.1 from halfrauds .... cheap & good .... the racing fluid you can get is a bit dearer though .
  11. Check for leaks around the master cylinder around the bulkhead & the slave - on the bellhousing ...that's if it's like most other cars - my Supra's an auto . Otherwise just top-up with brake fluid & keep an eye on it .... no it doesn't get used ....afaik .
  12. I looked into silicone fluid a while back . The US army use it `cos it's maintenance free , ie. it's not susceptible to water . I've got a litre of the stuff at work (I'm back at work on monday fortnight if you want it - let me know) but decided in the end not to use it .... too many conflicting reports about spongy pedal feel etc. etc. It's recommended for low mileage classics that spend 10 months of the year garaged . I can't recommend 5.1 fluid enough - my old corolla used to loose pedal feel after just a couple of laps (imagine trying to reverse park & felling nervous about whether you'll stop b4 hitting a wall!) .... changed over to 5.1 & some s/s braided hoses & I had a good stiff PEDAL all day! ...also , one of the main selling points for silicone fluid is that it's not harmful to paint - I'd take my chances & not spill any5.1 over the bonnet
  13. Cheers Paul , let us know how you get on with fitting & using . There was one for sale on the 200sx board , so I thought I'd see what the general consensus was here .
  14. Has anyone here used/considered using one of these as a method of boost control . Looks like a discreet & cheap (like me - hey , I'm nothing if not cheap) method . I'm thinking of getting one , along with some CW decat pipes ...I'll even keep my orange repeater lights , to maintain the stealth effect !
  15. Never miss an opportunity eh Paul? I think 100 euros is about £60 though .
  16. ...Perhaps Terry can give us this guys contact details . Terry's a very busy man & you wouldn't want to take up his precious time . Good enough?
  17. Don't forget , if you find a face-lift j-spec , you get prettier headlamp & sidelights (o.k. , personal opinion) , 17" wheels that come with the same big brakes as the U.K. cars ....& I'm sure driver & passenger airbags were available on the japs too? If both are standard , the jap spools quicker giving better off the line performance , but the transition to #2 turbo isn't just as devastating . Also , the U.K. car may be heavier , but it's also quieter ... ie. less road noise . If I were to buy again , I'd base my decision on the quality of car available . :oink: ...wot , no pigs?
  18. ...I always find that on hot days , with the heater temp at minimum , the air still feels hot , but maybe I've been spoiled by a/c . The results you're describing sound the same as when I did that test .... Hopefully Phil/Terminator (or anyone else who's been there) will confirm this , but the fresh air led flashes to say low/abnormal system pressure & the other one might be because you did the test in the dark(??) . You seem to know as much as I do about the grey cap ..the a/c guy will hook-up to it when regassing ....which it sounds like you'll need .
  19. cold air ? not recently! If you do a search on this bbs , Phil explained how to get the error code from the climate/heating system ... holding both `double' buttons in while turning the ignition to `on' . I got mine regassed by a small mobile compny based in maidstone - a bit far from you , but the regas cost about £65-70 , so that's an indication .... the a/c is now ice cold
  20. If they're mounted on wheels they should be iether hung , or laid flat , otherwise they should be left upright ... least that's what the michelin website says
  21. Hi. I agree , they're gorgeous cars . I wouldn't be too bothered about bhp figures .....get as good a car as you can (look for the bigger brakes - especially if you intend to use it on any track days) & drive it for a while b4 you decide where (& if) the engine is lacking . I think the upgrade path would go : exhaust , boost gauge , decat , boost controller (& fueling upgrade for j-specs), fmic , hybrids or big single (the former for faster spool-up , the latter for higher top-end power) .....you might want an EGT gauge when you fit the boost controller . ...I've done no mods yet ...but I'm sure some of the more experienced guys can advise & point out where I've gone wrong .
