  1. different insurance companies have different car groups depending on there own individual claim experiences. They also have different rating systems some are 1-16 some 1-20 some 1-50. Really its impossible to say this car is this group and that car is another. As you know some companies will insure you on an RZ tt but not quote for the SZ na . Using the 1-50 system, which is the easiest, the SZ is group 44 the tt's are 47 J

  12. Hi all, have been reading with interest the posts in respect of Pabs claim. Obviously I am unable to go into detail about any individual, but I very much doubt that the offer being talked about will be the final offer. Just to clarify most insurers, including Ensign who we place most of our club members with, appoint a firm of assessors to deal with and sort out a policyholders claim. From past experience with the assessor in question at the moment, it seems they have a 'standard' letter that highlights an approximate value of your car which is taken straight from Glass's guide! However, once a policyholder supplies their documents (purchase receipt, service history, mod details etc) the file is passed to an engineer who will do some proper research and come back with a realistic offer on what the car is currently worth. Pab's, if you could please give me call on 0870 11 21 759 to discuss this, I'll do all I can to help you. If anybody else has any questions concerning their policy or the claims procedure, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Scott.
  13. What you have been told by Ula is not exactly true. Sure some areas are more expensive to insure than others, but thats not to say we can not quote people in those areas. The higher rated areas are certainly not restricted to the north, ask anyone who has a Luton or East london postcode. I am the underwriter for these policies and I don't want predominantly southern areas. I want a balanced book of business with all areas low and high rated. P.s When you guys call us if you ask for the club scheme department you will speak to myself or Scott, which should insure no one is given incorrect info again. Cheers Jae
  14. Hi Guys I am really disappointed to hear that people have not been called back by Sky Insurance. On behalf of Sky I would like to apologise to anyone who is unhappy with the level of service they have received, as this is something we take great pride in. I am not sure how this could have happened. I have arranged a staff meeting tonight to go through these posts and try and get to the bottom of it. If anyone is waiting for a call or has a problem with their policy I would be greatful if you send me a PM or Email and I will deal with it immediately. It is my job to look after everyone at the club and make sure that no one has problems with their insurance, so am always happy to hear from you with any queries or questions you may have.
  15. As you can understand I can not give out details of how our scheme is underwritten, for obvious reasons. I can say that I am given alot of flexibility by insurers when calculating premiums. I will, on occasion, use this flexibility to get a premium lower, or agree to an additional or larger modification without an extra cost. This is not something I do so I can make "mistakes" on peoples' policies, as I have always said I am trying to design a more flexible insurance policy that is taylor made for modified car drivers. I can assure everyone that if you disclose all modifications correctly I will make sure your car is insured correctly. If anyone wants to discuss their own specific policy, please give me a call. Jae Sky Insurance
  16. I am currently speaking with the insurer and asking them to add an endorsement to their policy showing like for like cover for mods. Anyone who is worried about their mods being covered please contact me by phone or PM and I will gladly provide written confirmation. Cheers Jae
  17. Report to incident to Admiral and tell them that you want to complete a claims form "for information purposes only". This will help if the third party trys to claim and also fulfills your legal requirement, to report any accident or incident to you insurer. An insurance company does not have to indemnify you for an incident if you do not inform them within a certain period. Jae Sky Insurance
