I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at the club, especially Tom S. You really made me and the other Sky Insurance guys welcome, and we all had a great time. Cheers Jay

Slow Matt is right I can not discuss an individuals insurance policy on a public forum without written consent from the policy holder confirming they are happy for us to do so . I will say that most quotes we do are sent in writting to the customer and that letter shows the terms and exclusions on the policy. Once a policy is incepted we send an even more details explantion of the cover and a proposal form that needs to be checked and signed. If there are any incorrect details on these forms and if the policy does not cover something that it should have done then we will change it. However we can not amend a policy to include a benifit that was not previously included after a claim has occured.

Can a repsray damage an engine???
Safely Insured replied to Safely Insured's topic in Non-Supra Technical
Cheers guys. Thanks for the prompt replies -
Hi all, This sounds like a silly question I know, but I have a customer who has just had his car resprayed following some vandalism damage. Since picking the car up, he's noticed that the car is not running as well as it was and is now almost at the point of not running at all. The garage is not accepting any liability for this as they claim the engine wasn't touched (this could be feasible as they only do paint spraying) and the insurer is of the opinion that the car must have had a pre-existing problem. However, the garage did manage to spray the engine bay (which they admit to and will rectify) so could this be the cause of any problems? Has anybody heard of anything like this before or have any thoughts / opinions? Cheers, Scott @ Sky Insurance

Hi Guys I am looking for staff to work from our Enfield office. With have a number of positions currently available from management level down to office juniors. Insurance experience is not essential but obviously it will help. More importantly we are looking for staff that already have excellent customer service skills and understand the modified/jap car scheme. We have found it is easier to teach someone about insurance than it is to teach them about modified cars. If you want to know more then please PM or email me [email protected]. Please don’t send me PM’s asking how much the job pays, because as I said with have many different positions to fill and salary will depend on age and experience. Jae

Jb is exactly right. Obviously I would rather everyone just paid the price we originally asked for, but the end of the day you guys want to pay as little as possible for your policies. It's the same in any industry if you want to get the best rate you need to shop around and sometime an element of negotiation is necessary.
-
I you read the whole thread you'll see that the only reason the premium was reduced was becasue he asked to reduce what he was covered for. If you want less cover, it will cost you less.
-
This is exactly whats happening to us at the moment and is the sole reason why we introduced the price match on renewals.
-
yeah that is often the case. Most companies will ignore your first offence, regardless of if you are banned, and will load the premium more for repeat offenders. Jae

yep 18mil is a joke. No wonder the premiership is full of players from overseas. No one wants to pay silly money for English footballers. I hope Spurs don't get him, it's money that we could spend somewhere else

Insurers can renew an insurance policy automatically providing the customer has been made aware. The fact the V5 has not come through ahs nothing to do with the fact they want to charge you. You are correct that most insurers will not cover you if the car is not registered in your name, due to insurable interest. They can contest a claim when the information you have given them is incorrect i.e Are you the registered owner and keeper of this vehicle? But the bottom line is if you crased into someone in the car they would have to pay for the third party damage. However if you contact them with proof that the vehicle was sold/gone prior to the renewal of the policy and no claims have been made then they should give your money back, or at least reduce there charge to an admin fee

exactly! big Sam finds the best system of play for the players he has. Isn't that what being a good manager is all about?

The key to international football has always been getting numbers into the midfield as quickly as possible when defending, then getting midfield runners in front of the ball when attacking. England’s problem at the moment seems to be their inability to get ahead of the ball, something Gerrard and Lampard do for fun at club level. I think under Sven England were encouraged to maintain a rigid shape of two banks of four. Players like Scholes were Sacrificed to the left wing because of his desire to run beyond the ball and leave the center of the midfield slightly more exposed to counter attack. Unfortunately for all of us this tactic proved to be quite successful for Sven in qualification matches so he stuck with it. It wasn't until we went to the knock out tournaments that we realised he had no plan B and was unable to force a game. Mclaren has adopted the same safety first attitude J

with all insurance claims you have the right to take your car to whichever garage you like. However not using one of the insurers approved repairs will slow a claim down as the car will have to be inspected before the work can be started. The only time an insurer will not let you use a garage of your own choice is if their estimate is much higher than that of other garages.

In a word yes. I can't gaurantee that something won't happen that will delay or complicate a claim, like a third party disputing liabilty, but I can promise that we will do everything we can to make sure a claim is dealt with to your satisfaction. Our relationship with this club is very important to us. More important than our relationship with any one insurance company. I know some people in the past have questioned Sky as the club insurer when we have been uncompetitive on quotes but I never promised to be the cheapest company for every single club member. I promised Mawby that I would train my staff to understand modifications, supra's and supra owners and that Sky as a broker will do everything in it's power to fight our customers corner in the event of a claim. Jae

Firstly I good to hear that on the whole people are still happy with Sky as a broker. The main reason we continue to put club members with Ensign is, they still offer the best level of cover for modified cars. No other insurer on our panel offer like for like replacment cover for modified parts. I understand that not being able offer the agreed value endorsement to new customers is a problem, and it is one that we are trying to resolve at the moment. We are putting pressure on Ensign to give the facility back as well as putting proposals together for other insurers. At the memonet the claims at Ensign are delt with by a company called claimtec. As a result of complaints and pressure from brokers (mostly us) Ensign will no longer be using claimtec and there claims will now be handled in house with effect from 01-july. This should see a vast improvement in the claims service at Ensign. We have also appointed Graham in our Enfield office calims manager, he monitors all of our claims and is available to anyone who is not happy with any aspect of their claim. Anyone who uses this forum regularly will know that I am on here most days and can be contacted by PM or email with any complaints or questions regarding insurance, even if your current policy is not with Sky Insurance. There is a novel called Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield which is more historically correct and is really well written. There were more like 7000 Greeks in total including Spartan Squires and men from other Greek cities. It was only once the Greeks discovered they had been betrayed that the king invited the non spartans to leave. It is against Spartan law to retreat from battle or surrender, so they remained.

The cover is shown in the middle and just to the right it states if the no claims bonus is protected or not. Your policy is protected Mark, and was last year as well. Jae
