    Datsun 240Z

Given the subject, here's the before and to be finished example of my other petrol obsession aside the supra. A SWB Ferrari 250GTO Replica based on a tunned 1974 240Z. www.ferrari250gto.co.uk Might be a bit tempting when finished to see if Chris Wilson could get a mk4 TT engine into it .....

    major rant!!!!!

Mate, I had Glandular Fever when I was in my last year at Uni and it is a total arse of a virus. It is does not get the general attention as it should as people who have not known someone with it, think it's just like the flu or something. I lost 4 stone and was knackered all the time for 3 months. This for a mad sportman who hates doing fu$k all, all i could do was go back home and sleep and chill out. I totally sympathise with your work situation, the GF will have a side effect of making your stress levels heighten and lower your natural ability to cope with day to day shite. I would echo the comments made, get your GP behind you, get the Employers Personnel dept. in the picture and cover yourself. You will make a full recovery from this. The only extra advise I can give (from experience) is do not get pissed. You will screw your liver up and become a cheap nite out dude ! On my first night back to Uni, after the Doctor had warned me not to drink excessivley, I did and woke up at 4am in a city centre flower bed. Normal 'rugby lads' nite out then .... lol. I hope your year improves matey ..... don't let the wankers get you down, its just not worth it longterm. Dave
  3. Following a recent conversation with Chris Wilson and subsequent advice given, I too am in the process of refitting the standard airbox.
  4. All valid reasons to think about the real world longevity of riding the bike. I feel for people who only have a bike as their sole transport. Still feel angry and anoyed when i think about what happened, as i like to think that i am a good rider who does not promote the bad side of weekend sport bikes rider. But on the bike, if you get hit ... you get hit. Anyhoo, hopefully the drivers in question will think about bikes next time there out, doubt it though.
  5. Following a nice but spirited ride on on my Bike today around Worcester to Bewdley, I almost got squashed between and 3 series and an A4 ! Some dumb arse in a new 7 series leading the traffic, just stopped dead in the middle of the road, waiting for his brain to catch up and tell him what to do next resulting in all the cars following him to emergency stop. I was on my bike 2 cars back and stopped (just) behind the 3 series, BUT the Audi A4 behind me was not so observant, surfice to say that when he stopped (having skidded) he was a foot from my rear wheel. Never have I been so scared of what was about to happen . You can be the best bike rider on the Planet, but its the other's that will get you. I will admitt to absolutly loosing the plot with the elderly gent in the 7 series, but ammusingly the passengers in the car with him had also started on him for being a total liability. He then proceeded to indicate left and turn right across the carriageway and responding to the blowing of horns by flicking the V's to everyone. This was the point I parked up in front of him on a adjacent drive way and vented my anger. I few choise words later left him in no doubt that it was time to hang up his keys and let someone drive. SO ..... Anyone want to buy a 2000-X reg, Suzuki TL1000S in mint condition with a slighly stained seat ??????? I really have returned home thinking about selling it, the experience of today scared me that much.
  6. So Hadyn, how much would 40 mins of your time cost - I'll provide denso plugs and a beer.
  7. cheers buddy, liquid look is the aim
  8. How does it work or differ from other marques? http://www.zdouk.com/detail.aspx?ID=30
  9. Nice one, I appreciate your experience on the subject
  10. the blue bottle .... banana's eh ! I had seen they do a wax specific to JDM painted cars, is this wot u got? http://www.zdouk.com/detail.aspx?ID=30
  11. Is anyone using this magic wax ? Is it as good as they say ? Is it as weekly, monthly or whenever re-application ? Interested to see a picture of a Black Supe that has been Zymol'd if there's anyone out there ? Ta
  12. I am speaking from experience having been in your position 4 months ago. As I say, WHEELMANIA.
  13. Wheelmania in Birmingham are very helpful
  14. I tested it today for general fit and I would call it 9/10. The gap at the lower end that slots in to the dash is not a wide so you do have a gap, not really noticable though. The shape of the mould is perfect and the thin section over the door is a good match. The plastic dark colour match is very good also. Shame that they do not have the fixing blocks built in, a little fabrication now required before finished.

    sat nav

I have used the Compaq Ipaq + Navman GPS Jacket for the last 3 years as my mobile GPS without complaint. The software now has a postcode version. For about £300 you can get a entry all in one pda/GPS unit, or up to and beyond £600 gets you top notch PDA and GPS Jacket. Check this site out for options; http://www.totalpda.co.uk/xgps.aspx?section=474
  16. I have just received the 7971359974 (cheaper Model) today, delivered in 2 days, bank transfer and the chap selling them could not have been more helpful. I will now let you know if it fits !!
  17. The remold of the trainer world
  18. I had conti sports fitted to a Porsche 968CS track car and I found them very predictable once warmed up, fitted them to the Supe and find them to be very confidence inspiring, as on the Porker. I tried Goodyear F1 which took a while to get used to as they had a more rounded edge to the profile that gave the feeling of letting go and catching, where the conti's stick then let go, but with more predicability. As the conti are a flatter profile, you do get some increased aqua planeing, but driving hard in the rain - I try to avoid that ! I will now always stick to conti sports (original or contact 2) , I guess you get used to the feel of a certain tyre and stick to it. I rate them.
  19. I'll look out for you mate, i'm round the corner on park lane !
  20. Have you researched if these 'could' fit the supe? I looked at these some months back as they are as close to the veilside model without the price tag, but did not think they were made 114.3. I spoke with a UK Ace Dealer who said that they had fabricated a set for a Supra TT customer (anyone here?), turned out be be a job and a half redrilling to size. If you have found how to get them to fit, keen to understand how and where from as I too am a fan of the Ace Aviator.
  21. Michael - No mate, just a private owner (hence this post in the off-topic section) who suddenly realised that he had more plates than cars, which seemed a bit daft, considering I am skint most months !
