  1. Thanks Steve, what are the symptoms when they need replacing?
  2. Ive not got my car yet (ship arrives in Southampton docks on the 28th) but i was just curious to what part it is you are all reffering too. Am i right in thinking its the rubbers in which the boot hatch sits on?
  3. Thanks for your help, ill look into it.
  4. problem is it would only be cheap if i had all the original piping to replace it with, which i don't. Also the labour of having it all removed?
  5. Just to sum up regarding the piping. With a heat sheald and the Apex'i cotton filters it should be fine. To do a twin filter system such as this is exessive and expensive for minimal if any gain but seeing as I haven't paid for it, the previous owner did, this doesn't matter to me. So... ... assuming there is no power loss, if you had the choice to have this setup for free, how many would still stay with the stock box?
  6. Spot the mod (just for nic) http://www.laserlines.com/supra/
  7. But what if my plans were to strap on a pair of hybrids next year, this piping would surely be better set up than the standard to deal with this?
  8. Getting a double skinned heat shied won't be a problem, my mates a metal worker. So with a heat shied, would "in theory" these 2 filters provide better performance than a standard filter box?
  9. Through an agent in japan, the mechanic i use has been using him for 10 years so that was good enough for me. Wouldn't have done it this way otherwise, not without having a trusted agent in japan. Been looking since February but he came up trumps with this one!
  10. thanks again Nic, didn't know that either, anything else under there worth noting? I got such a good deal on the car I haven't asked for a full mod list yet. Things I do know are: FMIC, aftermarket ecu, boost controller, full am exhaust system, again, don't know the manufacturers of any of these. thanks everyone for you comments, very helpful.
  11. Thanks Nic, I love the bumper too, although until now didn't know who it was made by Not sure what to do about the number plate though, where abouts shall i fit it and what size can i get away with without getting pulled?
  12. already on the slippery slope of modding. Heres my FTO im selling: http://www.laserlines.com/fto/ AM air filters may damage the turbos I know that some are useless at filtering such as HKS etc but are there any which are proven to give good filtration which i can replace them with as i don't know which make these are?
  13. ah good, I like nice whistling sounds. Its the fact that there are 2 filters thats thrown me, any benefits or reason for it? Thanks Ian
  14. Id just like to to take this opportunity to say hi to all. This site and the people on it have been invaluable in helping me improve my knowledge on the supra. Ive finally managed to find a nice supra, 95 TT auto with 25K miles. Its going on the boat in a couple of days. Could anyone please let me know what that think regarding the pipes and 2 air filters etc. Would i be better off with the standard airbox? Thanks in advance. 15. yep, second the comment on the piaa lights, very good. Got a set of PIAA Xtreme Force for my dipped bulbs (very close to a xenon look) very bright, easily 30% brighter than my standard bulbs although expensive (£80) but you get what you pay for! Also got the PIAA white LED sidelights as the dipped beams made the sidelights look very yellow.
  16. Cheers. Regarding the above post about the silicone "worn off". Had mine on for nearly 2 years and they weren't as good as when new, after a good rub with a sponge, good as new. The silicone cant wear off, the blade is silicone, if its warn off you'd have the metal bracket screaching across the screen!
  17. Its a black 95 TT auto. Should be here end of april, just got to sell the FTO now!
  18. The PIAA one ive got came with some screen wipes to clean the screen first, then you have to use the wipers when the screen is dry to leave a layer of silicone over the screen. They work really well! Sorry, i haven't got a pic but heres a shot of my car anyway http://www.laserlines.com/fto/front1.jpg
  19. Not got a supra yet (its on the boat) but ive bought some piaa silicone wipers for my FTO and while not cheap (nearly £40 a pair) they are without question the best wiper blades ive ever had on any car. No squeaks, they move faster accross the screen and i got mine in a nice carbon fibre look!
