  1. I took my car down to Surrey Rolling Road on Saturday. How does this compare to other cars and is this decent power for my spec? Also note that the car was very hot when we did the runs as id been sat in traffic for an hour on the M25 & M3 before i got there http://www.laserlines.com/supra/power/power.jpg http://www.laserlines.com/supra/power/afr.jpg http://www.laserlines.com/supra/power/boost.jpg
  2. Sorry to hear this Ian but as everyone else says, im sure it'll be fine. When she's running right im sure it'll be one of (if not the) fastest supra on here. Good luck mate, and fingers crossed for Monday

How about next time make it £30 each. Then we can errect a few exaust pipes and have some pole dancers!
  6. Thats a real shame Sometimes things can get taken the wrong way when read, stuff like that should be sorted out over the phone and not on a public forum! Bad management.
  7. James & Sabrina, sorry you've had trouble with them. Wasn't quick enough to read the thread before they deleted it Unfortunately this is not the first time something like this has happended on there! Posts get deleted, threads locked and only their side then comes accross! When I Had my FTO, i saw this happen a good few times which is why i mainly used the J-Cars forum as there are no mods and a much nicer bunch (although, as sabrina says, most on the FTO OC are fine, just some very dodgy management) Out of interest, which mods/people on there were causing you grief?

£5 for a the CD then £2 per photo, maximum charge of £25 in which case he'll give you every picture he's got of the car for that price.
  11. yea its how much slip it will allow before it cuts in. wet 0% slip Dry 5% slip etc etc.
  12. Cheers Digsy, that'll make good bedtime reading. Those figures sound much more realistic and as you say, should be decreased with higher bhp cars.
  13. lol fair enough, glad im not the only one confused by their calculations then.
  14. I dont quite understand why transmission losses are calculated using %? I mean say for example, you turn on your aircon, that will need say 5bhp more to drive the compressor, that load will remain the same whether you have a 300bhp car or a 600bhp car? yes with the transmision you will get a rise in heat etc which are energy losses that will increase but sureley the calculation should be somehthing like, -40bhp & then -2% or 3% for increasing losses?
  15. Yea i agree John, so are people trying to say that if you bolted a Ford 1.3 engine (around 80bhp) into a supra, it wouldn't have enough power to turn the wheels?
  16. Can we have the 2 car duels timed for 0-60 etc too or would that require two sets of timing gear? If so, i don't think it not being a 1/4 is that big a deal. Just had my drag tyres fitted and removed everthing from the boot & the also removed the back seats! Be good to meet you all tomorrow, lets hope the weather holds out, looks like we should be ok tomorrow fingers crossed.

  18. Its what quality it imports it to your HardDrive from the CD. The higher the better but as i said before, the bigger the file size. An average 4 minute track uncompressed would be about 40Mb, where as an MP3 at 320kbps is only 10mb but at 192kpbs would be between 5-6Mb.
  19. yes, you have different quality settings, 128kbps, 192kbps,256kbps, 320kbps. the higher the number the better the quality but this also means bigger file size (still much smaller than the original though). Personally i wouldnt go below 192, i generally use 320 but give it a go. I would go the iTunes route if i were you. http://www.apple.com/itunes/ download it free from apple. you can change the quality settings in the iTunes Preferences under Import. If you need any help once you have downloaded iTunes, PM me.
  20. I got pulled last weekend in Kingston. The guy pulled me as he had been informed by the CCTV control that i had a small front plate! My plate is small but i made sure that the height of the characters were 64mm high which is fine for imports with no room for a standard plate. http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/regmarks/reg_marks_current_requirements.htm He walked round the front of my car and said. Copper: "Is that a bike plate sir?" Me: "No its plate for jap imports, all legal with 64mm high characters as per DVLA Specs" Copper: "thats good enough for me, thanks and drive safely" I also keep a printed version of the DVLA info from the above link in the glove box just incase i need to show them! Here's my car with the plate... (the car is there if you look hard enough) http://www.laserlines.com/supra/jae.jpg
  21. You're not, they're talking about the F150!
