It all costs money though. I've always wondered why the government didn't nationalise Rover and make it's own police and service cars. I think the price difference between the manuals and autos is not enough yet to make it worthwhile to buy an auto to do the conversion however when I bought mine I noticed all the good manuals were being snapped up very quickly and the ones that didn't were not worth buying to put right in the first place.

I should think the bulletproof vest manufacturer would have various checks and codes for different models and specifications though this did happen with a satellite when the Europeans measured in metric, the Yanks in imperial and built half of it each. If you choose a profession where there is a high chance of somebody being abused, raped, maimed, paralysed, burnt or dying if you cock things up then you have to be prepared for people, regardless of being armchair experts or genuine vocational experts to start pointing fingers in your direction. This goes for many occupations but social work is at the sharp end of this blame and shame culture due to the nature of the work & it's victims.

Lets be fair, if a social worker effs up, a child dies. If a desk jockey effs up then that paperwork doesn't get the accountants on time, nobody dies and no one is injured or scarred.
