  2. Ah, I see! Where on God's earth can you get a AEM/Motec or an E-manage mapped? Could DMS (do lots of 996 turbo mapping) for example map it, or does it require specific Supra knowledge?
  3. Mine is a JDM GZ auto, and totaly stock, but I'm bpu'ing it in the coming weeks.
  4. May I ask a silly question? I mean REAL silly, as in "I can't believe he just said that" silly? Look at the engine pic on the ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4521779913 On stockers there is a afm sensor assembly between the air filter and the turbo, but this car has nothing like that, nor an air filter- could someone explain to me how this works without the afm, and how come the turbo isn't reduced to shrapnal without the filter? Sorry for being dumb, but I just gotta know!
  5. Any news from the Police or hospital, or indeed the other party?
  6. I just read Evo now, can't be arsed with the others...
  7. I bought some wheel mania Vortex 18's for around that sort of money, fit over UK brakes, tyres aren't too bad. next day delivery too.
  8. Take him to court, just to get his address if nothing else- then post it everywhere. Gutted for you.
  9. Who pays for the damage to the car? The lad should be hung by his scrotum. Glad it's found btw, despite the damage (funny how you can't escape plod when doing 72mph on the motorway, but they are useless at other tasks)
  10. I've put it up on Pistonheads, I'll also keep an eye out.
  11. It's an open ended question for anyone. ie- I would like a fast road car, but caperble of 2 mile runway blasts 3 times a year, I want BMW M3 style ride quality, I want to retain the sequential turbo system. My budget is a little bit at a time, even if it's more expensive than doing it all at once (doncha just hate doing up houses?). I would like bellyfuls of torque at low revs. Others may want a quarter mile drag queen, or a stripped out track-car. Biggest queery for me is engine management. It's a question for everyone, not just me.
  12. Just done a search, but apart from the fact I'm crap at searching and googling- I couldn't find a definitive guide (ie everyone agree's 100%) about making the Supe go quicker (both in a straight line, and around the twisty stuff). I've seen the sticky that Aerotop Dave satrted, but that seems to have died a death last year. Anyone got an idea like this in the pipe-line? I wasn't thinking about BPU stuff, as most people agree on more or less the same stuff, the only argument is a EBC vs a restrictor ring- I was thinking more about "what next after BPU?". Also how could I have a nice ride quality (ie no crash/bangs) without turning it into a Lexus LS430 in the process. Help me I'm clueless. (I could use that as a sig???) Gaz
  13. That feature about the Lotus and that trackday was a load of made up story-telling. The Loti gearbox killed itself about 10 days before the track-day, not on the way up as suggested (they were there long before we showed up). "many of the cars had over 600bhp" - did they? It was actually two- the red SL65AMG that buzzed the camera, and the black RUF GT2. The average output was a smidge over 400bhp. There was a Supra on the telly though - for a total of three seconds.
  14. I was on a SupraUK thread on the front page, at the bottom it had related threads, I clicked on it, replied, and bosh.... here it is- never looked at the date
  15. If that's the case, save your tenner, don't become a member, and use this place as a reference libary and don't talk to anyone. Or, save your £30BB service, go to Halfords and pick up a book for £12.99 about forced induction tuning. Isn't the point of a forum to share tales and info? You wouldn't say to the wife "do a search" when she asks where the remote was, if you knew it was lodged between the arm and the first cushion on the right. This post isn't meant to come across as 'arsey', just merely an observation.

    Funny BMW thingy

Has anyone got that picture of a turd with a BMW badge on it, with the catchline "You suckers would buy anything"? If they have, could they Photoshop it (I'm crap at this, no pun intended) and replace the BMW badge with a TVR one please?
  17. Oh, I've been there before with my MR2 turbo, but also know the chap from SurreyRR- from what I understand they use the same calibrations and software as G-Force.
  18. makes interesting reading: http://nsxcb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=523&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
  19. Not yet, getting it done in the next few weeks at either Surrey RR or G-Force - want a baseline to compare before and after mods.
  20. interesting, just copy n' pasted this from (an American) NSX website: My 1991 car, number 601, was an early model. Power at the rear wheels (stock) was 249 hp at just under 7500 rpm. My chassis dyno guy recommends a conversion factor of 1.26 x wheel hp to get engine, resulting in 313 hp. And remember Honda rated the engine at 270 hp. Losses are actually probably less because the power train does not need to bend the power through 90 degrees, the NSX is a side winder...so power is probably even greater. Anyhow, the stock NSX was a fair bit quicker than my stock JDM Supra, clearly bhp is for the pub.
  21. iirc at a NSX dyno day, most standard 3.0's were punting out 310-315bhp, the 3.2's were a fair bit more- I'll check...
  22. Through the corners only the RUF GT2 could touch him. Remember he has the same bhp as the Supra, a very revvy V6 and weighs about 200kg less- I might keep up with him/beat him a beat with BPU. but certainly wont kick his arse.
