Why dont you build a kit car and see how you like it. You could learn quite a bit Friend of mine wanted to do the same and used to sketch it quite often, still hasnt done it yet!

I know the whole big wheel thing is great in theory Ed, but are they chrome or polished alloy? Rare for JDM alloys to be chrome. Im with Colin. California, yeah great all for it. You wont have any handling problems as they dont have any corners, and you wont have corrosion problems as it never rains let alone snows! Leicestershire....maybe not -

IIRC Cat D doesnt require an engineers report. As for the premium, perhaps have a look on something like confused.com with 2 car reg numbers. a non cat D and a similar cat D and see what you get -

As i said in PM Dan, worst case is buy the bar and offer it up. I doubt you would tell from even the best intentioned pics of the bars. They are still pretty popular so if you bought, saw they wouldn't fit, and sold on you wouldn't be at a loss. -
