  1. Hi all, Can anyone tell me where the fuse is for the number plate light? Cheers! IT'S OKAY, I'VE FOUND IT
  2. I just drove the Supra again a couple of weeks ago after a few months off the road and got this when edging forward in traffic - couldn't see anything wrong - however just took it in for MOT and she's failed on a wheel bearing (no knocking round corners though!) so I'll let you know if this fixes the dragging noise.
  3. I had the bright idea of taking her off the road last winter. The disks are just generally pitted and unhappy with sitting in our lovely Scottish snowdrifts
  4. Hi Bob, I have new pads to put in. Just can't afford new disks, she's failed on other stuff too and having just had some really bad financial news I doubt I'll be able to keep her anyway
  5. Anyone got some used J-spec rear disks lying about after an upgrade that they would part with cheaply? Otherwise I may just have to sell my kid to get her through MOT Cheers Morg
  6. Hi all Hubby's just fitted my white dial faces and I'm having problems. Drove to work, all well, and looking awesome. On the way home, speedo not working, rev counter sticking, fuel and temp working fine. Hubby took needles back off and on, went into work, all working. Came home, same again. Wat have we stuffed up??? Cheers Morg
  7. Hi all Where would everyone normally go to buy stock rear disks and pads for a J-Spec TT? Cheers Morg
  8. Depends what mood I'm in. Sometimes I think it's funny. Sometimes it really p*sses me off. Mostly I just think they must have brains the size of a pea. What really gets my goat is when mechanics/car shops look about to fall off their feet when they find out you have an interest in how the thing actually works. It seems they don't mind if you just have a Supe to look pretty in
  9. Hell, just read the post from the beginning, was really that by the end the car would have been recovered. What complete bastards there are out there. No good me looking out for you as I strongly doubt it would ever get as far as Aberdeen, but keeping my fingers crossed you will get it back intact.
  10. It's not that I'm not perfectly capable of doing it. I swapped the engine in my MkIIIT. I just hate brakes. And as I haven't had to do my own for the last 5 years, I thought it would be sensible to get some instructions. In my experience it's always the people who don't like to ask who end up in trouble.
  11. Unfortunately I am now at the point where it's fix her myself or sell her I don't mind doing basic stuff - always hated brakes though. Not many things will kill you if you do it wrong but that will. Hence the paranoia
  12. Hi guys, I know somewhere on there there must be the idiots guide to swapping brake components, but I can't find it. I need to swap calipers, disks and pads on the front and I am missing the existence of a trusty Haynes manual, which is invaluable to paranoid people like me who always think they will stuff something up. In the interests of not putting my baby through a wall at a ton, please could someone send me a link? Cheers Morg
  13. I would be hard pressed to choose between an RX7 and a Supe on looks - they're both gorgeous. However, Supes don't have apex seals
  14. Any of you guys own the silver Veilside I keep seeing round Anderson Drive? If you're wondering why somebody in an RS Turbo keeps staring - my other car is a Supra
  15. Sorry guys, 'scuse the thread hijacking but I saw the word Cambridge... I've never been to Cambridge but my work have just started casually dropping hints about having a vacancy there and how I'd be really suitable for it etc etc Am I going to have to sell husband, child, Supra and anything not bolted to the floor to be able to get an acre of land to build a house and keep a horse on? Or am I too late and everybody already bought all the land you can build houses and keep horses on?!?
  16. These guys are in Melton Mowbray, but I sent the wheel down and had it collected by Parcelforce http://www.alloywheelrepair.co.uk Kev did a really good job of some pretty nasty kerb damage and had it ready for collection by the end of the day.
  17. I'm starting to get nostalgic for my MkIIIT! I had a better understanding with that - bits usually broke that I could fix myself My pulley started squeaking a few days ago and I assumed she was just needing a belt. Now I am dreading daylight Oh well, might as well get the cambelt done at the same time, that's gotta be due now. And get new front calipers, as I think mine have died. Has anyone else noticed that everything seems to happen together? And usually after you've spent way too much money on alloys and stuff?
  18. Hi What would you guys say would be the optimal tyre size for 8x17 fronts and 9x17 rears? Cheers Morg
  19. Very nice I've dropped Paul a mail. Cheers all
  20. You've all gone quiet! Oops that's not good
  21. Is passive arming the thing that makes it arm itself after about a minute and then go off every time my daughter moves in the car while I am in the garage paying for my petrol?? Does anyone know how to turn this off, it is driving me nuts! We are in the middle of building a house, and like everything else the manual is buried in a box in the loft. Cheers Morg PS What's the deal with going to Halfords to get a new battery put in the keyfob, and they can't do it, I have to call out the alarm installers Hyde Park Corner. I bought the damn thing at Halfords FFS!
